It's pretty much the Avenger. Cut the two square central panels out of the back of the wings and it's exactly the Avenger.

This was the Decipher SWCCG version of the Avenger. Sadly there was never a GUNBOAT introduced in that game, it’s second greatest failure. The first failure was releasing TPM expansions.

This is another version that is somewhat closer to the Space Sim games. It looks very much like it was the inspiration of this:

The Silencer is definitely the Avenger 2.0, so I expect it to be awesome. But if ‘Matt’ is driving it then it’s gonna crash into an asteroid or just spin around because that’s a good trick.

Ohhh they are indeed very similar. It's a shame it is so big (otherwise I would buy one and use it as a TIE Avenger).

I like to think of it like this:

TIE Bomber is to TIE Punisher as TIE Avenger is to TIE Silencer.

@Odanan, it's 1982... but yeh, if it isn't Kentaro Haneda, Kengi Kawi, Yoko Kanno, Nobuo Uematsu or Joe Hieshi, it can be a bit much.

I think the majority of it's size is basically wing length. It's still a small based ship, and the extended wing length gives it the sleeker look of the Avenger Grimmy posted above. Seriously, just cut those square panels at the back out, give it an Imperial paint job like below and you're good to go.

Seeing these awesome 3D GUNBOAT graphics really makes me sad that there aren’t any Star Wars games with modern graphics that include the GUNBOAT. Oh well! I can still always put one of Fractalsponge’s pictures up full screen on my monitor and dream of the day when Fractalsponge gets hired to make all the ships and graphics for Battlefront 3!!!
