No, no! You're supposed to save that response for someone asking, "When will then be now?"

I know I can't get a game in for the next 5-6 weeks due to a combination of work and my wedding next month, BUT I WANT MY FOUR GUNBOATS NOW.
Actually, knowing my luck, they'll probably release on my wedding day, so I couldn't even pick them up for a week. On the plus side, I'd get to celebrate a double anniversary every year if they did...

Will your fiancé let you register at your local gaming store?
About an hour after the post-wedding dinner is over, everyone is being escorted to another area for a drink while the dining hall is converted from banquet tables to several gaming tables, for a night of tabletop games, adult beverages, and nerd-themed donuts. Everything from small, light games like Love Letter and Exploding Kittens, to massive board games like Formula D and Champions of Midgard.
However, she specifically banned both X-wing and Armada...

Marry that girl!

It's a trap! Leave that girl at once!
In fairness, I usually take over the kitchen with a buddy of mine to play one or the other once a week for several hours, and she encourages it, so it's not all bad. She just doesn't want it at the wedding.
Personally, I don't think she's as excited about Gunboats as she should be.

Explain that they've got five wings.
FIVE WINGS.

I’m waiting for FFG to do a spin-off of one of their other popular games, mixing it with the best ship in Star Wars...

“Legend of the Five Wings”
So now deploying a Gunboat automatically grants you an enlightenment victory?

One more than an X-wing. SIXTEEN more in the four I ordered. I don't understand why she's not understanding how important this is. I mean, I explain it using a chart and diagrams at least once a day. Maybe I need to create a PowerPoint...

Yes! You couldn't possibly go wrong with a power point presentation!

Most likely November or December.
The time between the Wave XI announcement and first preview was 2 months. Then it was 2 months until it released. So 4 months...
*does some quick math*
So yeah, mid-late December.

Fortunately I don't have that issue with my girlfriend... nope... not at all...
She plays Scum and wrecked my TIE/ln swarm with Boba Fett and IG-88. ![]()
What I find amazing is that the FFG panel at GenCon was very quiet until the Gunboat was announced. The uproar about its announcement just was amazing. The video is by Team Covenant.
The X-Wing announcement starts at 55:30.
Edited by EskandareSpeaking of panels, have they posted the Nova panel anywhere yet?

This made my heart happy.
You know, the world might seem doomed but we will have these little plastic artifacts of pure beauty to hang onto. I will certainly sleep hugged with one of my Gunboats for some time.

Space travel/exploration is a mistake. (and so XX Century...)

Do you mean manned exploration? Cause our robot servants have made great discoveries on our behalf and have visited every planet in our system and even leaving the Sol System entirely and treking into interstellar space. Man in a can went to the moon almost 50 years ago, and has since circled the earth endlessly.
At least the super rich are making progress with manned space flight, albeit at a glacial pace.
Why is this in our GUNBOAT super thread?

I mean manned. In the XX Century people (including scientists) believed the only solution for humanity would be to colonize other planets. All this is based on miraculous forms of transport (warp) and later cryogenics. Today we know that the future of mankind is to not learn to live in Mars, but in Earth.
And yes, this is a whole philosophical discussion that has nothing to do with Star Wars or Gunboat..
Because, in a moment of weakness, @Odanan pointed out that our world seems doomed these days, and I throw in an obi wan line to transition to a topic with breaking news happening.
No need for warp or cryogenics for mars or the moon.

Oh my better half won't so much as touch the game. She'll encourage me to go play tournaments and have people over to play at home, but she won't touch it herself. However, right now she's trying to decide whether we're playing Mansions of Madness or Flashpoint: Fire Rescue, so I'm not going to argue with what I've got...

Acts 16:31 clearly states "They replied, "Believe in the [ASSAULT GUNBOAT], and you will be saved--you and your household.""
