I think next time I go to a major tourney I'm going to print out some custom Gunboat cards and dish them out. Maybe alt-art some Deadeyes or Extra Munitions or something.

It sounds like the Producers aren't pinning any great hopes on the movie either. I mean, it seems it may be unraveling even before the trailer is out.

But to be more on-point, it would be odd that Disney would put a Gunboat in the movie. But hey, the Empire is built on hope.

I think the idea was that a film depicting the life of a smuggler might see him run into conflict with Imperial customs patrols.

( "I've outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big Corellian ships now..." )

And as we know, customs, shipping lane patrol and anti-piracy roles were part and parcel of the Funboat's duties.

I'd be very surprised to see it in the Han Solo movie, as the Assault Gunboat's design is neither 70's / early 80's nor modern.

One can never stamp out the flame that is Gunboat. It will rekindle and set the galaxy ablaze with it's cleansing flame.

Unless Rebels get a stolen version of it, then the Gunboat fans will set the galaxy aflame with fires of rage and hatred.

Interestingly enough, the fact that the Scrugg Bomber that is lauded by some as the Punisher fix, looks like it will probably boost all factions, therefore leave ordinance in the hands of Rebels and Scum at top tables. Therefore, FFG must have the Empire's answer in an upcoming release. The best example of such a platform outside of the Bomber and Interedictor is the Gunboat.

I wouldn't say so, clanofwolves. The Assault Gunboat never used bombs/mines/etc., let alone should it have two bomb slots. Closest thing would be Space Bombs, which are different than the bombs presented by FFG.

That's why custom makers have given it a systems slot! Adv. sensors barrel roll/boost! :3

I was thinking it a a missile-boat to replace the Bomber, who's name oddly enough is a misnomer in this game; go figure. The Punisher was a flop and is a flop post-Scrugg save a bit of Epic play when you have to fly Imps and need the ordinance to complete a mission. Bombs just haven't found a home in the Imperial faction, so ships that can take ordinance fly Torpedos and missiles instead. Maybe the designers are fine with that imbalance? I was just speculations that designers may want to buff Imp ordinance with another ship....
