It's not as though this is new or abnormal behaviour; he's been passive aggressively trolling the topic for a couple of years now. Attention seeking, I guess.

I lost all faith already when they released the TIE/sf that is, by and large, a copy of the Gunboat stats and dial proposed here long ago, (shoehorned into a turreted TIE that shouldn't have those stats and dial at all by the literal words of Poe Dameron, but I guess FFG likes to get inspiration from the forums now and then, as they did with Odanan's Imperial Veterans).
Also to me it was clear after the podcast where they asked about when the Gunboat would be released, Alex Davy first went with "All ships in the Empire are made by Sienar", then with "We went to a really rare and random game to get the TIE Punisher instead", and finally when insisted he answered "Well, never say never".
That is, saying "never" twice between the lines.
The deletion of almost all mention to Cygnus in the new canon was just a confirmation of this.
And now this TIE Agressor article looks like they went a great distance to leave it clear that the new boss on charge like his Empire being like the Foot Clan from the Ninja Turtles. All mooks dressed the same using the same vehicles, as if designed by a marketing team to sell toys above anything else.

*shrugs* if FFG (or their rodent overlords) want to leave (lots of) money on the table, that's up to them. The only Imperial expansions I've bought since Wave 4 have been the Assault Carrier and Imperial Veterans. And the C-ROC is the only expansion I'm planning to get out of the currently announced releases.
I've spent more money on 3D printed Imperial ships than I have on official Imperial ships since 2015.
That's not to say I wouldn't pick up future expansions if they were ones I was actually interested in, but I'm not going to buy expansions I have no interest in for the sake of it.
I really need to finish painting my GosricBoat. Then I can put a few new images up.
I guess it's our own fault.
Lucas always saw Star Wars as something for 12 year olds.
When Lucas lost interest on Star Wars after Return of the Jedi, the task to keep the flame lit fell into other hands.
West End Games kept Star Wars alive for the late 80s and early 90s in their role play games guides and stories. Star Wars became more adult oriented, since roleplayer are usually older teenagers or grown ups. So Star Wars became deeper, more complex, and in general, more believable.
This trend went on with the videogames X-wing and TIE Fighter, and with Thrawn's novels.
In the recent Celebration, Lucas was there in front of a audience full with people well past their 30s, and repeated his sentence: "I shouldn't say this, but Star Wars was meant for 12 year olds."
Now that there is a whole corporation and marketing team actively not only keeping the flame alive, but wanting to make it sear the skies, they aren't seeing so much market on the old 30-40 year olds anymore.
They want a new market for the next few decades, one that lasts at least as long it it lasted for Lucas, and they need to target those proverbial 12 year olds again.
So here we are, back to the first square.
With the 12-year-old-ization of Star Wars, wondering what happened with our own Star Wars.

Rogue One pretty much disproves that entire notion. They produced a Hollywood blockbuster targetted at a more mature audience.
And it was a huge box office success.
Im sure if the TIE Turd was released certain people would be at the front of the queue.
Now I really hope FFG don't release the TIE Hunter. As long there aren't a cheap cannon for the Empire, the Gunboat has chances.
Anyone realize this thread has been around since before Wave VII and we STILL don't have the Gunboat?

Gunboats are built on hope.

It was around before Wave IV was released (and a day after Wave V was announced!)

Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor: Gunboats are built on hope.

I would say Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn, but sure, Erso and Andor would do.

That's who I thought they were in the first trailer.

That's who they should be...
I know that was a lot of crappy stuff in the old EU, but most content before the Battle of Yavin was decent and didn't deserve a wipe-out. Fel, Stele, Mara Jade, Katarn... it was a crime to obliterate them, Disney.
The story has come full circle. The might of the Empire has been pressed, the Rebels gained freedom for the galaxy from government, but there is no justice. Bounty hunters own the space between all known worlds and freely and take goods and lives where they will with little to no consequences; throughout the galaxy, uncountable citizens with no government live in fear. There is only one hope, be it slim, we must hold on to for our very survival.

You link for an awesome Gunboat image is broken, dude.

Yes, tis the best way to break up corporate inaction; the squeaky wheel theory which relies heavily upon repetition.

TBH the Empires abysmal competitive level shows that something other than another yawn 3agi 2 atk tie with gimmicks or yet another inferior interceptor is needed.
I mean Imps are getting TLTs 2 years after they were cool. And it's in a fugly, stupid looking ship.

I dunno, it sorta fits between the TAP and Vader's ship. It's no GUNBOAT tho.

Hey TIE Hunter would be cool, but if you are choosing ships from Legends, FFG, you need to pick the Assault Gunboat first!
Avenger > Tie Hunter

Not now, but what FFG will be adding to this game in the next 2 years?

A dozen crappy new canon ships with <5 minutes total combined screen time?
