Out of curiosity... we know Sienar has churned out crazy design after crazy design in both the X series and M series... is there any sign Cygnus did anything imilar? We know about the Alpha and the Lambada- how much of the rest of the greek alphabet did Cygnus go through?

Dunno if they were Cygnus designs but the Nu class was the attack shuttle from the Clone Wars, as well as the Theta class shuttle from Episode Three. The Delta class assault shuttle from Tie Fighter might have been Cygnus if I remember correctly. There seemed to have been a ton of shuttle designs dating from the clone wars. The Sentinel landing craft sadly does not have a Greek designation.

Hmm... thoughts on an ace pack style release with Imperial Gunships, with the Alpha and Delta together?

Remove the "does it fit" by placing them as gunships instead of fighters, despite still being imperial small base craft. Delta can eat the Tie Shuttl and Tie Scout for stats- something maneuverable with crew, a support ship for the offensive Gunboat.

I love/hate the Delta class escort shuttle.

I love it because I like the design and the idea of a "Shuttle II: The Revenge" ship that finally can hold its own in combat.

I hate it because that mission in TIE Fighter about rescuing the Emperor that is prisoner in a escort shuttle in a flight group of 5 escort shuttles. D@mn those things can aim their rear turrets and obliterate my T/D. And if not taken care of, 4 of them could blow up the rescue corvette in no time!

Escort shuttles were the worst in TIE Fighter. Any craft with a rear facing turret that was still capable of maneuvering was really.

I would say Imperial large base with rear 180 degree special arc (you cannot shoot primary weapon with it) and frontal 90 degree firing arc.

Chasing these b1tch3s would be a pain, with them firing back and pooping mines and bombs. Fluff.

You should keep in mind that the rear turret was a turbolaser one, that's why it could obliterate unshielded crafts so easily.

I have played even x-wing as of late.

Yeah the graphics are obviously outdated but... For us, those were not polygons, those were friggin' ships, and we were sitting in the ****' cockpit.

And yeah, going against Avengers and Defenders with a Gunboat was terrible.

I still remember that mission in which they finally give you the Avenger and the mission briefing ends with "now you're gonna fight on equal ground!"
