You could EASILY do good PT era content. They just for the most part didn't, focusing too much on PT from the movies rather than the universe at large.

Well RC was great with its story and the Immersion. But the gameply was too shallow if you ask me.

Eh, I liked it. But I like squad based games. It should have had co-op. For the era it was **** good.

If you were to do a game where each of 4 players played a rebel agent and had to do missions getting into Imperial or pirate facilities etc, then fly ships around/operate guns it'd just be the best game ever...

I also like squad based games and RC was fun to play. But I missed some diversity in level design and the aproaches you can do to finish the missions.

Yeah it was pretty linear, sign of the times really.

Also there were only three theaters.

But you have to remember it was original xbox era, where games were way more basic.

It's been forever since I played RC myself, but the big thing I seem to remember was that despite the weapons sounding like they'd floor a rancor, they didn't do much in the way of damage.

They were highly effective against mooks, but Super-battledroids were re-imagined to be terrifying.

Think nothing of Trandoshan slavers pulling Commandos out of their ass and spider droids turning into tanks.

X-Wing Series and Dark Forces I & II and JK 2 & e are the best SW games out there!

Kotor 1 and SWB 1 were also nice.

And Rebellion is the best SW strategy title till now.

I used to love Rebellion. HATED HATED HATED the natural disasters. Nothing better than getting your awesome industrial centers up and running in each sector behind 2 upgraded shield generators only for the RNG fairy to decide to change a place like Coruscant from the center of the galaxy to a burnt out husk.

Bonus points if it happens and the cutscene for your Rebel Base being destroyed starts to play. Actually lost a game like that because Luke lost to Vader and Mon Mothma was captured early in the game. Base was behind 3 shields and a fleet of Bulwarks and enough fighters to lol at any Death Star. Yup that didn't do a thing against troll A.I.

Back on the subject of TIE Fighter, not only is the are the X-Wing series some of my favourite Star Wars games of all time, but I think the Admiral Zaarin story arc is probably my favourite EU story of al time.

Exception would be Knights of the Old republic, but that's sufficiently removed from the rest of the Star Wars franchise to not really count

Yeah there was one decent game that ended on a cliffhanger and never got a sequel, but that's one tiny island in a sea of dross, you look at the games people remember fondly they were civil war and beyond no one has good memories of the isometric episode one game or bombad racing.

Seriously, it's distasteful trying to justify why I hate sellouts to people. If they randomly threw gunboats in Rebels and the Scooby Doo gang of kids stole one, I'd take my TIEs and smash them on the sidewalk with my war hammer.

Marrak Steele, Thrawn's personal Shuttle pilot. Catcching just enough of the big picture between combat missions when the Grand Admiral chats during boring flights, to really understand what's behind his regular fightercraft battles.

Yeah taking a short break as burned out at the mo. None of the new ships that aren't an ARC, U wing or Mando protector really jump at me. Not going anywhere, just taking a short chill while i do other projects.
