Also, that black hi-def acrylate material - if that comes out as smooth as it looks, that's going to be a game changer. Detailed and affordable?

Pac Man TIEs... can't wait.
If that ship comes, I quit for a year.
I'd actually be considerably LESS upset about the Mining Guild TIEs than Sabine's TIE, as they are actually a separate model of ship used in numbers, and not a single standard TIE Fighter.I'm already pretty upset over the Rebel TIE... don't get me started.
Really because I can't see how they would be anything but an identical TIE to the ones we have. There is not really room in the game for how minute the difference would be.
Worse statline (Evade 2) and worse dial, maybe?
Would end up having to be even cheaper than an ordinary TIE, though.
Cannonically, slightly better sight line, IE can see a bit better to the sides, for a tiny loss in maneuverability.... It's totally negligible in a game like X-Wing.

Wookieepedia paints the difference as being bigger:

They also had a notch cut in their stabilizers, giving them only eight solar collectors instead of twelve, which gave them improved visibility, but greatly diminished their combat capabilities and maneuverability.[2]
I'm just gonna say that the sightlines have literally never ever ever been an issue for TIE Fighters.
Exactly. The Pilot sits so far back in the cockpit that the solar panels never were an issue.
Speaking as someone who's made and worn a TIE pilot helmet, there's one major issue they have with visibility, and it's nothing to do with the SHIP at all...
(Visibility in a TIE pilot helmet is so awful I'm forced to assume they have some sort of built in HUD. Or that the terrible visibility explains why they pop so easily, because they literally can't see ships flying straight at them if they're below about halfway down the ship's cockpit....)

This is what I have been saying all along! I'm so glad you guys get it!

Well the Stormtroope and TIE pilot helmets have an build in holo HUD with enhanced optical data.
The reason Han and Luke couldn't see well in them probably was caused by the holo field not beeing calibrated to their head sizes. Like when you sit to close to your screen.

ROTS shows what Vader sees inside his helmet, and that's probably what all helmeted Imperials see. Pilots probably have even more information in their visual field when they 'plug in' to their ships. When Vader and his wingmen are fired on by the Falcon in the DS trench Darth looks over his should like he can actually see in that direction. It's likely that TIEs have a multitude of visual and other sensors giving a view around the ship as if the hull and wings were not present. I guess the mining guild just doesn't use the same helmet/sensor system. Or their pilots have to lean forward and look out the window when they are parking.

I can confirm the truth in this...

Storm Troopers were terrible shooters because of directing mistakes, and a slipup Mark made on set that the crew rolled with. They didn't make it seem like anyone knew how to hold a weapon until AotC and RotS, and that's not that great to begin with.
Sort of a running gag that got old a long time ago.
Have to think that a lot of people in the Rebels department of Disney could have easily grown up playing X-Wing vs/or TIE Fighter. Maybe there's some old curmudgeon at FFG or Disney who constantly rejects non-TIE Imperial designs with something of a 'harumph, wings? Imperial ships can't have wings! Where would you put the solar panels then?'.
I personally think that my liking of the Gunboat came about because it was the first fighter in TIE that almost ensured you weren't going to have to worry about cycling back and forth between attacking your target and protecting your mothership (since the screening fighters couldn't do their job). You'd see that hyperspace effect show up and it was just you, your wingmates, and the mission. Of course I was also the guy that would squeeze my steering wheel every once in awhile when a car was pulling away at a traffic light because it was so similar to a Mon Cal cruiser entering hyperspace after I had killed off its turrets and nestled in behind it and matched speed (always happened at 1% hull too).

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Will buy.
Soooooo sweet. I'm rocking 8 of those things in the meantime.
Man, I want one of those, but I'm saving myself for when FFG finally releases the Gunboat so they can have all my love and monies.
Let's hope I keep to that better than when I was in High School...
Where'd you get them?
Mel's MInatures. Frosted Ultra Detail
Five wings for me. Those extra wings aren't accessory.
They are supposed to be the extra shrapnel pieces for when enemies of the empire blow up a gunboat, it explodes like a grenade, killing its killer with her.
Or hasn't that happened to anyone in the old X-Wing games?
Its not a bug... its a feature. Would love to see an upgrade card for this.
