I sort of get why the stuff in the most recent waves has been what it has. Current movie/cartoon tie-ins make sense.

But it still boggles the mind how the Punisher made it past any sort of brain storming session with a tick rather than a laugh, whilst Imperial ships of over 20 years good standing are left in the doldrums.

To be fair, with regards to the Punisher Wave 7 was more about bombs than it was about ordnance in general. Two dedicated bombers, Conner Nets, Cluster Mines, Ion Bombs, Bombardier, Advanced SLAM and Extra Munitions - and the Imperial choices were pretty much limited to Punisher or Scimitar. I'm not a fan of either, but in the battle between eggbox and space dong, there can be only one winner.

Not the kind of bombs used in the Miniatures Gane. The Heavy Space Bonbs/Rockets used in TIE Fighter were more unguided ordnance than the seismic charges seen dropped by TIE Bombers in Empire Strikes Back or Slave 1 in Attack Of The Clones.

Theoretically, the Missile Boat and the Gunboat could carry bombs...

The Scimitar Assault Bomber or even the TIE Oppressor wod have been better choices. Missile Boats were just cheese, and gunboats were adequate strike bombers when needed to be.
