You could always do what most people do when they see a thread they're not interested in: don't open it up and don't read it.

I'd like an ARC-170 repaint in imperial colors with imperial pilots first.

And then some more prequel ships.

And then maybe a mega set with all the red squadron X-wings with their unique markings.

And then some more EU ships.

And then yet more Tie variations.

And finally after several more waves, then the Gunboat might be interesting.

I've never forced my kids. They are too much like me, force em they won't want to do it.

40K I am kinda. But it's a case of "you have this squad, i have this squad - let's kill some orks!" To me, that's not forcing them into it. That's having the game and being resourceful.
