Yes. Currently I'm designing a game for crowd funding. But it is really hard to work without proper "professional" backup.

Ouch, I don't envy you. Trying to break through in any creative industry through traditional means is a nightmare. Especially these days.

Disney is fully aware of how hated the prequels are and would block any product based on them.

If Disney would release a brand new updated X-Wing/TIE Fighter computer game and recanonize the ship we'd be sorted, plus we'd have an awesome new computer game.

Honestly I started off pretty ambivalent about the Gunboat, it was in my opinion the least fun ship to fly in the TIE Fighter series and I thought it's design was rather boring but I didn't have strong feelings about it being in the game one way or another. It wasn't until the twelfth or so thread I saw attempted to be hijacked by it that I really started to hate the ship and by thread number thirty I knew that I never wanted to see it make the game.

As soon as I saw The Force Awakens, I wanted a new X-Wing series game made for the new canon! And with similar controls! None of this, "we mapped everything to buttons on the joystick/controller," garbage, or simplified, 3rd-person view gameplay!

Yes, one day, eventually, they will have nothing better to do than the Gunboat.

If they do, it will probably be in the same wave as the H-Wing, another heavy cannon ship. But here's my question: What could either of these ships do that my Lambda or B-Wing can't?

But you know what I want? How about getting some Chiss or Happas ships in a "Galactic Allies" pack, or something?

And here's the thing about Missile Boats: not gonna happen-because fluff. The Emperor decided to stop making them after that whole stolen TIE-Defender incident. If FFG wanted to do that ship, they should have released it with the K-Wing, giving both factions a ship with SLAM. Instead they went with the Punisher.

I would much rather have a Missile Boat than a Gunboat because that would actually have given Imperials something different, a new capability. But that ship has sailed, imo. (no pun intended...was that even a pun? idk)

Oh, and how bout the fact that the Missile boat has a unique look (doesn't look like a Lambda...or another freaking tie).

I mean, you could have even given it the same stats as a punisher: two torpedo, two missile, one bomb. Same weapon, evade, hull, and shield. 21 points. Just switch the boost action for SLAM. And you have a great ship. The only thing would be that packaging the Mk II engines wouldn't work, but who cares, they didn't do much for the defender, anyway. package it with the Inquisitor, or something.

You could have given the Empire a really cool, really different ship, but ugh, didn't happen.

And I never even played the TIE Fighter game. No nostalgia goggles. I just think it would have been great instead of just another TIE.
