I don't think that the XvT era games could even fully support it.

I have my doubts about XWA.

I've put way too much thought into making it happen and I think a Raspberry Pi 3 running Win98 should be able to survive the setup just fine. Dismantling a keyboard to turn into Falcon-cockpit-style switches, plus the joystick....

...it all works in theory! Saving up for it is the only reason it hasn't worked yet!

Keyboard hacking? Ewww. First off that's putting a lot of time in effort into messy a hack job. Second, keyboard controllers are garbage and many suffer bad ghosting, bad n-key rollover, and other issues. Go and get yourself a KeyWiz and skip the headache of hacking cheap consumer peripherals.

I just want to justify paying for a f**kexpensive flight yoke. Then you'll (eventually) get pics of me in full BRIAN with a flight yoke playing TIE Fighter.

On my way home from game night tonight I was pondering the gunboat a bit. I am super pumped for Imperial Veterans, but I know that once I am able to field my 4 TIE defenders in Epic play (totally a, I'll be looking to the horizon for the next thing, and that is the gunboat.

But while at game night a friend showed me the alternate art card for Force Lightning from Star Wars: The Card Game, and I felt a rush of nostalgia for The Force Unleashed. I realized that once I have the gunboat, the next ship I absolutely want to see in this game is the Rogue Shadow.

Sigh. No matter what they come out with it's never going to be enough. Does that mean I'm addicted?

Personally I think the next things on the horizon for the Imperials will either be the Shuttle and Landing craft from TFA, or the TIE Striker and Stormtrooper Black Ops Lambda Machine from Rouge One.

A lot of TFU's cool "thingies" are now canon ala Mobile Games: like what happened with the TIE Defender. Look up Riot Troopers on Wookiepedia. Better yet: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Riot_stormtrooper A canon version of the Shadow is not out of the realm of possibility.

What would be nice is if they make the gunboat canon. Maybe have it be a project that Grand Moff Tarkin championed, since in his novel he made his low opinion of unshielded TIE fighters clear. Then with his death it fell by the wayside (hence them not showing up ESB and ROTJ when there's a lot more Imperial fighters flying around).

And so, we look to wave 10.

What would be nice is if they make the gunboat canon. Maybe have it be a project that Grand Moff Tarkin championed, since in his novel he made his low opinion of unshielded TIE fighters clear. Then with his death it fell by the wayside (hence them not showing up ESB and ROTJ when there's a lot more Imperial fighters flying around).

Maybe we have been going about this the wrong way. The new comics have been sneaking in quite a few things into cannon. The DX-9 stormtrooper transport has been made cannon this way. We need to start campaigning to the comics book authors and artists. Try and get them to add the Gunboat in. Even if just in the background, it would still be enough to "make" them canon.

And once it has been made canon, it would be much easier to finally convince FFG to add it into the game. It would no longer be EU, but new canon.

Best way for the Gunboat to get in game would be with the DX9...

But if you remember the italian leak of the wave 9 ships, well, right at the bottom of the second picture it displayed 'XG1 ASSALTO BARCA PISTOLA'

Since the Wave 9 spoiler that came out today points that the ships listed are effectively being made, well... I'd say that this is a faint glimmer of hope for the XG1.

Not to add, the last ship named was 'SUPERIORE STELLA VIPERA' which translates to 'Superior Star Viper'..

I have faith that we'll get the Gunboat. You all know this. I had complete faith regarding the ARC leak too, so, hey .

I am now a shameful victim to the "one of everything" compulsion (with the exception of huge ships... so far). I become very excited with news of new releases, and then hang my head low.
