See, personally I have little interest in the ARC. But I know there's a lot of X-Wingers out there who do, and I certainly wouldn't begrudge them the chance to get a ship they love.

If the ARC is true (honestly I feel that some one is trolling the fans) I'll be disappointed. The ARC was something I thought was cool for the prequels but I know it was Lucas poo fo Hasbro to make more toys.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the ARC and I own the toy, but I feel it isn't as elegant as the Gunboat and takes away from the feel of the game. I more or less had the feel from Dark Forces, X-Wing, and TIE-Fighter from so many years ago.

The prequels ruined that for me and the Force awakens brought a little of that back. It is well known that the prequels was Lucas selling-out before the final hand off to Disney (which was years in the making).

I'd be okay with the ARC-170, or any of the prequel ships if only a good, balanced and competitive XG-1 Starwing Assault Gunboat were to be released.

I'd love the Gunboat just as much as the next guy, but I can't be the only one thinking it isn't going to happen. They had the perfect opportunity to introduce the Missile Boat opposite the K-Wing in wave 7. Instead they opted for another TIE design that nobody had even heard of, let alone wanted. The only reason to choose the Punisher over the Missile Boat is if you are unwilling or unable to give the Empire a non-TIE small ship. This leaves me little hope of getting the wonderful Gunboat in a future wave, as it is not a TIE.

Well, neither the Gunboat or Missile Boat would be an ideal candidate for delivering Cluster Mines or Ion Bombs. Or the Twin Ion Engine Mk II upgrade, for that matter.

Aaaaand the GUNBOATism was born.

I'm just holding out hope for a title for Punishers and Bombers that has the utility of R4 Agromech or reducing the costs of Ordnance. Systems Officer is a good option, but it is dependent on having a support ship around, and that support ship needs to have a high pilot skill if you want to solve the same problems R4 and Deadeye solve.

I'd like a title allowing multiple ordnance to be fired in a turn. It had two large launchers on the side. It should be able to get both off.

So basically the ultimate alphastriker then All Shields Forward. An all-or-nothing ship, where if you don't take your target out with the initial salvo, you've got a 2 attack primary and a crappy dial to finish the job...
