Yeah, I'm thinking the mod may have done something. In his video, the Star Destroyer is firing a few shots here and there. In my game, the SD fires so many shots it's pretty much a solid stream of green aimed at the ships and hospital.

You're not alone! I struggled with that SAME mission and ended up having to throw the difficulty down to easy to complete it >_> But yeah, the recent version of the XWA upgrade did something to make a few missions WAY harder than they should be. I got close to finishing it a week ago until one of the assault transports got a lucky hit and damaged the Otana's engines =_= it was game over from there. MIGHT need to drop that mission down to easy >_>

The YT-2000 is much more likely than the DX-9. As much as the DX-9 is everywhere, doing everything, I wouldn't call it a combat craft...
On the other hand, would you guys find a small base ship with 3 crew slots, a torpedo, and a systems slot useful? Attack 2, dial would be even worse than the lambda with max speed of 2, no K-turns. 8 hull 4 shields. Agility 1. That's what I see the DX-9 being.
The DX-9 in the X-wing games has quite a lot of weapons.
It has 4 laser cannons, 4 ion cannons, 2 torpedo launchers, and a lot of passengers.
I don't think the Empire needs any other shuttle, though. Between the Lambda and the Upsilon, they can do whatever the DX-9 could do.

Dood the DX-9 would have Att 3, dial like a Y-wing with a little more red, cannon, two torps, system, more hull and shields than the lambda, and probably a boarding action that causes stress and crits for ships at range one or maybe touching.

And all of those shuttles look neater than the utilitarian DX-9...
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the DX-9 because of it's relationship to the flight sims. It's dead simple to imagine it with an upgrade card that says: Discard, drop a mine, and this Mine has range 1-3 attack with two dice and an agility of 3, hull 2. Because these things DID drop mines in addition to all the other crap they did.
They turned like a bus, and they were very slow. Anything faster and it would have been unfair for your first B-Wing mission when project shantipole got compromised by an Imperial spy. Maybe this could be the first bullseye arc for the Empire?
But someone else had some rightful criticism for the DX_9: It looks like a Star Trek shuttlecraft. It doesn't have big sexy wings like either of those other shuttles, nor does it have a long history of being in a cartoon or being onscreen. The DX-9 had a thankless utility role in all of the old flight sims that we love it for, but what also dooms it to obscurity.

Look at it this way: large base ordnance and crew carrier with plenty of hull and shield points with an honest squad points cost.
Exactly what the empire is lacking right now since the Firespray is overcosted and cannot feature more than one Crew slot. And let's not get the Decimator into this.
And yeah, that thing dropped mines while withstanding quite some punishment, I remember that two proton torpedoes were needed to bring one of these fuckers down.

I personally prefer the YT-models with asymmetric cockpits, but it isn't a bad ship.
I’d be happy with a scarif pack at this point. I don’t need new ships, but I want more x-wings to be on the table than Biggs, and I want more y-wings than the stressbot.

but yeah, get excited. Especially when this one likely comes with Chopper as an astromech upgrade. Sorry BB-9E, ol C1-10P is the most evils Astromech evah. If Chopper was a starfighter, I’m sure he would be a GUNBOAT for the sheer awesomeness and destructive potential.
