So, why ugly Gunboats instead of cannon pretty ships ? :P

Gunboat ugly? Clone Wars ships pretty?

Scimitar Bomber

What the Punisher should have been.

I've got a couple more I think would be nice, no particular order:

TIE Predator

TIE Sentinel

TIE Hunter (probably first)

TIE Reaper

TIE Oppressor (just scrapes in - probably last if this list was in order)

Missile Boat (unlikely now. Also not very pretty, more so it and Gunboat can be buddies)

TIE Avenger (unlikely with TIE/vn incoming)

Edit: (some more less likely ones I thought of)

TIE/M1 (I know...)

TIE Scimitar Bomber

  • TIE Predator = at least looks cool and unique. Maybe when they run out of canon designs again?
  • TIE Sentinel = bloated and more ugly TIE Aggressor.
  • TIE Hunter = I love it, and could have some funky maneuvers, but it's uniqueness (Cannon and Torpedo) overlaps with the Gunboat. Could still come, however.
  • TIE Reaper = One of the next Imperial ships for sure.
  • TIE Oppressor = a turret-less TIE Aggressor? Probably (hopefully) never
  • Missile Boat = yep, the revealed Gunboat has everything that would make the Missile Boat unique (SLAM, infinite warheads, utilitarian small cannon) - and I'm fine with it.
  • TIE Avenger = too similar with the TIE Silencer (in looks) and a middle term between TIE Advanced and TIE Defender. I guess in 4-5 years?
  • TIE/M1 = really? That's offensive.
  • Scimitar Bomber = ugly as ****, but I would prefer if over the TIE Punisher. Now it's gone...

Not that I care (much) anymore, but what I can see coming next:

  • TIE Reaper
  • TIE Silencer
  • Delta-class Shuttle
  • new ships from Han Solo, Ep VIII, Ep IX, Obi Wan and all the new movies.
  • Clone Wars remnants: Eta-2 (with Vader) and V-Wing (with Tarkin)
  • Rogue Shadow (with cloak rules for large ships)
  • TIE Predator (in between movies)
  • TIE Hunter (in between movies, but far away)
  • PS: The Sith Infiltrator is a no go, as Maul was never Imperial - he's actually an enemy of the Empire/Emperor (more fitting to Scum).

I'd hope that if we got the TIE predator, we would get the X-83 too.

I Know, I just...

I like really strange designs. I don't like stupid ones though.

(totally not subjective...;))

What I personally want:
The Avenger and the DX-9. So I can run epic missions with 4 gunboats, 4 avengers and a few DX-9s trying to capture a corvette with an x-wing screen.
I want the X-wing to be flown more, and not by just biggs. Like I want an X-wing fix.

I still want a 2.0 to introduce new maneuvers to old ships somehow. But I want X Y A and B to be common standard ships again.
I don't want the gunboat to be better than TIES, I want it to be AS GOOD.

In regards to scum, the entire point is a lack of uniformity and a lot of customization. FFG should just increase the points cost of JM5K and roll with that.

And for the love of the force. A campaign system. 100/100 tournament bores me.

Have you not heard/tried "Hero's of the Atari Cluster"? If you have not, you need to. Outstanding fan made co-op campaign. And many groups (myself included) have adapted Imperial missions for it.

Yep, but we can have both, right? (HotAC and official campaign box)

While I agree that we can have both, I'm not sure what FFG could put out that would be better then HotAC.

SWX69. My favourite number.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice that.

Also, skipped from 69 and 70 to 72. One of the TLJ ships for 71?

Okay guy, just read the rules for "Reload".
The GUNBOAT shall reign the skies of every world!

There have been rumours floating around the forum of a potential surprise release on Force Friday. Don't know if this adds any extra credibility or not.

Other than that, I don't think it's a stretch to say the next few SKUs will be Last Jedi related.

And the Assault Configuration title isn't as bad as I thought.

You get TWO cannon slots(so you can have a beam, AND ion cannons), and the "2 points or less" thing only applies to the special ability(ability to shoot even when Weapons Disabled), so you CAN still put the canonical Ion Canons on it.

So if you HAVE a cheap cannon, you can fire it even when you're reloading.

Oh I know of HOTAC but.... Want more... The official campaign system allowing linked missions would be awesome!

Things I want to know.

The Jam Token card doesn't explain what the JAMMED status means.

What is that other title "OS-1..."

That other cannon? "Linked Battery"?

Linked batteries doesn't have an "Attack" Header.

My interpretation? it adds your other cannon's effect to your primary attack. i.e. Tractor token, stress token, ion token, jam token...

Also, says "Small Ship Only", presumably to prevent range 1 IG-2000's from doing 4 damage & Ion....

Now, I gotta agree that that's a pretty ship. But its only use I can remember was early Clone Wars, and was then quickly phased out in favor of Y-Wings and ARC-170s and, later, V-Wings. Did the V-19 ever even see Galactic Civil War use? It was slow and so hard to maneuver, even compared to the Z-95 Headhunter. BUT... it is a really pretty ship... I would love to have the model, but help me see how it fits in a Galactic Civil War game...

They show up in the Thrawn novel. I haven't finished the book yet so I'm not sure if they would be Scum or Rebel, but it's pretty early so probably the former.

Jammed means you have jam token. No more no less. I'm assumi g there is pilot abilit or upgrade that cares about jammed targets.

Ah, that would make sense.

So without another modifying special ability, hitting a ship with a jamming beam just gets rid of a focus, evade, or one of their target locks? It doesn't actually prevent them from doing anything?

Yes.

You say that like token stripping isn't valuable...

Combined with Flechette Cannon it's kinda neat. Removing tokens and giving stress.

I have the bad feeling that OS-1 condenses the Gunboat and the Missile Boat into one ship.

Simply because I didn't see this on this page (I'm not checking 273 pages lol)

Pretty excited for it!

Nono, it is it's just...not quite what the Jamming Beam used to do in Star Wars: TIE Fighter. Where it basically disabled your weapons.

Though I suppose it WOULD prevent you from firing anything that required a target lock.

I was expecting a tractor beam for red dice personally
