Using the "gitzman" character sheets, what is the "fortune" boxes next to the characteristics? Where are they derrived from?

When spending XP, you can buy a Fortune Dice for one of your characteristics. How many of these you can buy are listed as "Fortune" on your career sheet under the list of available advances.

You then start adding a Fortune Dice to rolls using that characteristic.
