Skaven Related Cards

By valvorik, in WFRP House Rules

I'm working a bit on some skaven stuff to round out various encounters.

Clan Skryre's Poison Wind Globadier is a card in creature box but we don't have the Poison Wind Globe (unless I've lost it)

How's this for item:

Glass sphere filled with black-green gas
Ballistic Skill (Thrown)
Encumbrance:2
Slow (maneouver to prepare)
Thrown using Perform a Stunt vs 1 Challenge, Close Range. Succ: target creature or engagement is "hit", o n failure and chaos star, indicates globe breaks at feet of thrower.
All targets in engagement must make Resilience (3D) (Resist Poison) check. They receive 2 plus failures or minus successes wounds and 2 plus banes or minus boons fatigue. On Chaos Star Overwhelmed condition.
I went with item in case a PC wants to use it.
For other fire bombs etc., the Molotov's Cocktail card can be used.
A warpfire thrower would be a mechanical equivalent of Great Fires of U'Zhul (Rank 2 Bright Order) but comet would be targets make 3D corruption check for exposure to warpstone.

Good stuff. Now make some cards on Strange Eons and load them up to RPGgeek. -- then link a cool picture of those cards back here... ;) I thought we'd had a discussion on a similar subject here. I'm going to look around and hopefully get a link for you...

The one thing I would like to see detailed (probably unrelated) is the blackpowder kegs. These could be detailed the same way. We have an item card for them, but no details on supposed effects on blast radius, damage, etc.

Terror in Talabheim has a bunch of this related stuff.

Hi Valvorik,

I remember having the same issue with the Poisson Wind Globadiers. What I did is use the action card Death's Head from the Exalted Nurgle Chaos Champion. You can use it as a first aproach.

Cheers,

Yepes

Thanks for the thoughts, I'll check out Death's Head.

Re Blackpowder, I think the handouts I distrubite for Enemy Within include a keg of blackpowder with the effects/skills related to using it on it. I don't pretend it's the best approach.

You haven't lost it, they just didn't make one. There's also no appropriate ranged actions for it, really.

I made this a while back and used it once. It worked well enough. It reduced the number of dice rolls nicely by just auto-killing henchmen, and making the main effect be fatigue instead of damage meant it stacked with all those poisoned daggers the gutter-runners carry. Success = 1 Fatigue, which can represent either getting a bit of poison or simply the exertion of holding your breathe. That eliminated the potential of PCs trying to hold their breath the whole time.

I probably should have had it give corruption too (as per WFB fluff, there's warpstone in the gas) but I didn't think of that detail until after the session where I needed the action.

I didn't have to worry about an item card at all. The PCs at my table are VERY cautious about not using potentially corrupting items. If your PCs are more likely to loot the bodies and throw warpstone poison at people, then my card really won't meet your needs.
