2014 Regionals results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

P.S. We have absolutely NO information on the Denmark Regional this last weekend. :( Can anyone help?

June 7: København, Denmark. Faraos Cigarer

http://www.faraos.dk/

It is July 6, not June 7.

Ah-ha, that explains it! I have updated the info here. So we only had 2 events this last weekend, and 1 before that: two light weeks in a row. It's time for some more action these next couple of weekends though!

Few things more, I add the 3 missing squads for this RT :

Thanks Lanyssa. Since we have most of the squad results from last week's 2 Regionals, here are the updated stats through week 7. They obviously didn't change much, since there were only 2 Regionals and attendance was below average.

Statistics through Week 6 (last updated June 13)

For the statistics below, I am counting ALL of the squads that made the Final Cut, OR made it into the Top Third numerically. Everything is based on the number of points spent, and I use a weighted average of:

Keep up the good work.

I just sent out the weekly email to the 4 venues that will be hosting events this weekend:

Week 7 (upcoming)
June 14: Bundaberg, QLD, Australia. Pegasus Games
June 14: Stockholm, Sweden. Dragons Lair
June 14: Roseville, MN, United States. Fantasy Flight Games
June 15: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. GameKnight Games
I don't usually get replies back from most of the venues I email. I wonder if FFG will reply back and notice this thread? For all I know this may be the first time that they have heard of this thread.

So, a follow-up: the folks from Dragons Lair got back to me by email, so we should probably be OK getting results there.

There's a ton of folks on the forums here that will be going to FFG HQ, so we will almost undoubtedly have coverage there.

That leaves the 2 Regionals in Australia and Canada: so if you are going to these this weekend, then pass the word and try and grab some results for us!

Also, I am going to track attendance in the statistics as well. Should be interesting. :)

Pegasus Gaming had their Regionals yesterday. Lots of Imperials, Firesprays and Shuttles were many to be seen. Winning list was 2x Shuttles + Soontir. I'm sure the Owner of the LGS will get in contact with whoever, eventually, with the info.

Cheers

Per MJs request, I was 16th at the MN regional and ran Howlrunner w/ Swarm, Carnor Jax with PTL, Mauler Mithel, Backstabber, and an Alpha.

My request again for reference:

If you were at the FFG Regional and placed #9 - #25, please post your final placement and squad breakdown here. Likewise if you know what someone else's squad was.

Updates are bolded . The Soontir Fel List works out to 99 points so that looks legit to me. I am scoring the #6, 7, and 8 lists as if they were in the Top 8 for ranking purposes, since they originally qualified for Top 8. The 3 squads that moved into the Top 8 are also weighted as Top 8, lucky them. :)

Hey guys,

Here are the results of the regional championship in Austria, held on June 14th in Salzburg at P3Comix. Unfortunately I only remember the lists of my fellow top 4 competitors. However, I'll try to get the remaining top 16 lists as soon as possible :)

Salzburg, Austria
June 14th, 2014
P3Comix
Attendance: 23
Final Cut: 5 rounds of Swiss, no Final Cut
  • Winner: Howlrunner + Determination, 5x Academy Pilot, Scimitar Squadron Pilot + Assault Missiles;
  • 2nd place: Howlrunner, Mauler Mithel, 5x Obsidian Squadron Pilot;
  • 3rd place: Wedge Antilles, Biggs Darklighter, 2x Red Squadron Pilot;
  • 4th place: Wedge Antilles + Swarm Tactics, Biggs Darklighter, Tarn Mison, Rookie Pilot;

Filling in my bit of info for Roseville Regionals.

I landed at 14th with a squadron consisting of:

Han Solo w/ C-3PO and Millennium Falcon (50 pts)

Dagger Squadron Pilot w/ Advanced Sensors (27 pts)

Rookie Pilot w/ R3-A2 (23 pts)

Total: 100 pts

Was an amazing day of games!

Thanks all, I pulled that all in. Here's the Big Summary of what is still missing:

Week 2 (3 out of 4 fully reported)
May 10, 2014. Aldershot, United Kingdom. TGS (missing three Top 8's)
Week 3 (7 out of 7 fully reported)
Week 4 (2 of 4 fully reported)
May 24: Burlingame, CA, USA. Kublacon (need #10/Top 8 details (Chewie + Wedge + Biggs), #11, #13)
May 25: Conder, ACT, Australia. Good Games Canberra (missing one Top 4, two Top 8's)
Week 5 (1 of 1 fully reported)
Week 6 (1 of 2 fully reported)
June 8: Toulon, France. Association Les yeux dans les Jeux (need #6 - #8)
Week 7 (1 of 5 fully reported)
June 14: Bundaberg, QLD, Australia. Pegasus Games (no report)
June 14: Roseville, MN, United States. Fantasy Flight Games (still filling in #9 - #25)
June 14: Salzburg, Austria. P3 Comix (would like #5 - #7)
June 15: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. GameKnight Games (missing one Top 4)
Edit: when we get more reports from QLD, Australia and Winnipeg, Canada, I'll post stats through week 7. I'll also see about putting up attendance and squad archetype breakdowns.
Edit: Added more details on what we're missing.

What are we missing from Kublacon? The rest of the top 16?

If so, I can supply my wife's list, which came in tied for 14th:

Chewbacca + EH, Gunner, MF

Blue Squadron Pilot + HLC

Rookie Pilot

The other player at 14th ran, I believe:

3xBlue Squadron Pilot

2xPrototype Pilot

I edited the above list to specifically list what we need. Do you know how many people were at Kublacon? I have it listed at 40, but this was approximate. If anyone knows how many tables there were for the first round, that would tell us.

If it's 39-41 people, then for statistics tracking I would only count out to #13. Either way your wife's squad is enshrined in history on the results page. :)

Footnotes: Our event was well set up and well organized. Our attendance suffered for multiple reasons however. Fathers day was #1, as a few our regulars had indicated that they would have made it if it had been on a different day (in our defence this day was chosen for us and locked in by our supplier). Then there was the Manitoba Marathon (the province's biggest running event) was being run the same day, and the routes literally circled our location making access to our venue a bit difficult. Also, Fantasy Flight hosted their Regional Championship the day before, possibly keeping a few people from travelling to ours. And it rained like crazy. The people who were in attendance had a great time, the battles were engaging, and we had an out of town guest from Halifax (2500+ miles away). It was a great experience and we are looking forward to hosting another event like this in the future.

I believe it was 39 people eventually? At least for the first round. People dropped afterward. But I'm honestly not sure.

If you're only listing to #13 then I think my wife's squad would land there, as she beat that BBBAA list in Swiss, which should have broken the tie (I don't think they ran any tiebreaker checks inside top 16 since it didn't matter for prizes).

Attendance at the start is all I care about, if people drop later I still count them. So was your wife marked as tied for #13, or tied for #14? I.e. was there a #13 and then your wife (tied for 14th), or was there a #12 and then she and someone else were both tied at #13?

Since wins the heads up tiebreaker, so its either #13 and #14, or #14 and #15.

Sorry; I use the convention of the specifying lower place when calling ties, so when I say "tied for 14th" I mean that the next place up was 12th. So presuming a tiebreaker were run for those tied for 14th, the winner would be placed 13th.

Edit: although now I'm not sure if they were tied for 14th or 15th. Curse my failing memory!
