Lynnwood Store Championship at "Round the Table" 3/16 - 10 players

How was the venue? I was in the store the first weekend it was open looking for some X-Wing play while visiting up there, and offered the owner some suggestions for table area, etc. for the tournement.

They did pretty well overall. I think they were surprised by the turnout (it was their first, and the turnout was much higher than their regular Thursday night events), but they were able to get all of the players together at the front of the store. Outside of the initial seating, it seemed like a pretty smooth tournament.

Pastimes Comics and Games 3/16/14 Niles IL

Imperial

Soontir Fell + PTL + Stealth

Howlrunner

Mauler Mithel

I flew this list before, it's a pretty good list I'd say.

More #'s please!

And if you can keep it to 2 lines, copy and paste will be much easier on me.

3rd place was Kagi + Fel + Turr.

4th was a 6 ship Howlrunner swarm.

Edit for brevity

Edit #2 Didn't mean to imply I won, because I didn't

SO MUCH INFO!!!

I was at the Mythic Games tourney in Santa Cruz. The second place player, who was in his first X-Wing tournament ever, ran the following:

Luke with Vet Instincts

Dutch with Ion Turret

Blue Squad

Rookie

I had the privilege of losing to....err, playing both the first and second place players and watched their match for the championship. At the end is was an undamaged rookie facing off with a shieldless Luke in a final head on pass resulting in the Rookie downing Commander Skywalker for the win.

Three B-wings and a Y-wing eh?

Which ships did you have left at the end of your last game? which ships tended to survive the longest? Which ship(s) tended to be destroyed first and why?

Thanks for sharing!

My final match was against a Bloody Daggers list:

2xDagger B-wings w Adv Sensors

2xRed Squad X-Wings

I lost the naked B-wing first...mostly because I lead with that ship and I want them to fire at it. I lost Dutch as well on the last match but the damage was done. By that time I had killed all but 1 of his B-wings which was stressed for a k-turn and Dutch ionized it on the way out leaving my 2 B-wings at range 1-2 with target lock and focus. Before that match I had only lost a single B-wing on any given game leaving me with 6 full match wins for the tourney.

very cool squad. nice synergy with target lock + focus on a B-Wing every round. dutch would operate like howlrunner in this list giving ur best positioned ship up to 3 rerolls (4 at close range). nice.

Viscous build...beat up on me in round 2..... :)

Gamescape - San Francisco, CA March 15th

18 players, 4 rounds, Rebel/Empire ratio was pretty even

Winner

Howlrunner

Dark Curse

Black Squadron Pilot - Draw Their Fire

Academy Pilot x 5

Great shop, excellently run event, awesome people. Good times, Battle Report forthcoming.

Did you mean Academy Pilot x 4?

That list looks 1 ship too many. 109pts vs 97pts.

Yep, he meant 4 academy pilots. I ran into them in round 4. His dice were hot, at least against me.

2nd place was a BlueBacca list

3rd place was Turr Phennir and 4 alphas

4th place was mine, with Turr, Mithel, Howlrunner and 3 academies

Ah, thank you for the correction! 4 ACs it was. And now, now, DarthDave. The dice were okay, but the confusing number of evade actions I took initially during you'd alpha combined with pulling your swarm into the corner of my choosing had a lot to do with it, as well. A lesson you implemented the next day at Santa Cruz, at least the evade action part! Still, two very enjoyable games!

Heh. That game convinced me to buy a yoga mat, for sure...

MASSIVE UPDATE to the 1st TWO postS. You'll be surprised!

Arvel- 1

Biggest surprise(s):

The EMPIRE STRIKES BACK- After some recalculating the empire is making a strong come back (early reporting + late wins).

Percentage of named pilots being used, not counting crew cards, by wave:

Wave 1: 78% (73 pilots)

Wave 2: 22% (16 pilots)

Wave 3: 0%

Hmm. So are the named pilots in Wave 3 not good enough? Are the named pilots in Wave 1 too good?

The list of ships being used almost looks like a tier list.

You have Gameology win as Empire, but it was Rebel

I have a feeling that's going to start happening more and more. Sooo much info. Trying to keep it straight. Go ahead and correct me away. I need the help at this point. I think there might be a duplicate report or 2 as well.

This is awesome, great work. I would love to see the results in a spreadsheet or Google docs, including breakdown by ships and points. Maybe I'll get one started later tonight as an example.

Agreed. Ship numbers is interesting but a comparison of usage doesn't mean. Much when a TIE is half a Bwing.
