Store Championship Results

By Rakky Wistol, in X-Wing

Keeping it up to date as possible!

By dismissing the differences in generic pilots, you pretty much dismiss pilot skill bid. I personally find the aspects of pilot skill bid very fascinating. Having had some of my PS 2 pilots devastated by Gamma Pilots instead of Scimitar Pilots was a rough reminder. If you are already separating the pilots, why not go all the way.

I would love to see those too but it's a ton of work to go back and retool things at this point.

MORE DATA! :D

I have been reading through the Battle Reports forum. Some updates for you Rakky:

A completely new battle report:

http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/101403-underhills-games-march-15th-tournament/

3/15/2014 Underhill's Games Cuyahoga Falls, OH 12

(Bounty Hunter + Recon Specialist + Seismic Charge) x2, Omicron Group Pilot (21) Darth Vader (3)

That wasn't a Store Championship, it was just a regular tournament using the Season Three 2013 kit. (I was there.) Please edit that out of your post to avoid confusion.

Fixed...

I'll have to double check "leader boards" now but everything should be good soon.

Thanks. Were you the winner?

Yes I was. I won the Omaha store championship and the Ames store championship with that squad.

Did you give your regional bye to the one who came in second place ?

Regional byes are non-transferable. You can't give them away, sell them on eBay, etc.

Edited by kraedin

What if it was never written on?

What if it was never written on?

That's why I asked. The LGS asked the winner if he was going to try and go to Regional's before writing his name on the certificate.

A few years ago in another minis game I played that gave bye's out at Store Championships we had a guy go to pretty much every feasible tourney in 2.5 states so that there were less people getting byes and he'd have an easier "road" to the championships.

What if it was never written on?

SKETCHY!

Well the plan is two regionals so 1 bye for each. Also at the Ames Championship, my opponent already had a store championship as well. We were each playing for a second one. I would of played Kraedin if he would of won his games against him.

Cedar Falls ran its Store Champs today.

1st place: Jon with Lando+Chewy both with Gunner+EH

What's the store name and where is it located? Thanks. :)

Edit: approximate headcount would be good too.

Had 5 people show up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Just bad timing for several guys

Thanks. I removed it. Rakky, you should also update your list. Unrelated, but Rakky are you still counting that game (Highlander Comics & Games) that had only 2 people? I removed that one as well.

We only had the one in Chantilly:

Game Parlor - March 1st (my post on the 1st page of this thread)

We did have another at Comics and Games in their Fairfax location (March 29th) which I haven't seen updated here yet. That info is in my post, bottom of page 17, this thread.

We also had several others in this area that you do have in the front post. Anything else I can clarify just let me know. NOVA Squadron area is most of the VA tourneys and all of the MD tourneys. I can get you info on any of those.

So which list won? I have 2 different winning lists from you. Page 1 here says:

Game Parlor

The Omaha one was.... The Game Shoppe? The only one I have listed as Omaha is 4Plus.

FYI on some that I was chasing via PM, no changes from these though:

I inquired from Khyros about a Pittsburgh store, which we already have correctly as Monroeville, PA.

I asked Obiwonka about his Battle Report posting, but it's already here, Pet Shop Comics.

Sorry, I can understand the confusion. The post in this thread shows only the winner of the entire event. My write-up shows the placement after the swiss rounds. Further down the write-up I explain the single elimination results. The guy that finished 4th after swiss was the one that won the entire event. Both my posts jive, just presented differently.

OK thanks! I removed the double entry that had a BBBAA winning squad.

That's correct. The Game Shoppe is in Bellevue, which is an Omaha suburb.

I didn't have the 2 person tourney on there- If two person tournaments were a thing I've won a whole lot of tournaments!

I think I have them all "correct" at this point. Last time I checked our ship and pilot numbers were in line but probably need to do that again this weekend and some point as I did a lot of adding and deleting.

I suppose I should report my win at Arrowstar Games on March 29th. My list:

5x Gamma Squadron Pilot + Seismic Charges

This is a brutal list and one that I've had a lot of success with. It tears apart heavy hitters and the charges are a huge threat to fragile but nimble craft.

To be fair, it was a tiny championship. Still, I'm glad the list was successful.

How many people were there? That's a crazy list, I might need to try that!

Edit: city / state?

Store results for Enchanted Grounds in Highlands Ranch, CO on March 30th.

14 Participants.

I won with the following: Soontir Fel + PTL, Howlrunner + Swarm Tactics, 2X Obsidian , 2X Academy.

2nd Place had Han + Gunner, Chewie + Gunner + Draw Their Fire. And there was a Millennium Falcon title somewhere in there.

DON'T lose steam now folks! We're almost done!

FYI, I am slowly updating the GoogleDoc to include:

  1. Per-pilot breakdown by points (i.e. Rookie, Red, Biggs, Luke, Wedge, etc)
  2. Upgrades, Modifications, EPTs, Ordnance, etc by points
  3. Pilot Skill breakdown by points (automatically calculated from #1 unless Veteran Instincts is used)

No ETA at this point. Right now I'm just updating the hooks for everything, but the hard part will be going back and adding the new data for non-named pilots, and points spent on upgrades / EPTs / etc. I want this done before Regionals, and then I'll use this setup for Regionals as well. Regionals I'll also include a breadkdown for Top 1/2/4/8/16, which requires getting full lists for the Top 16, including their ranking.

If anyone has any suggestions on other things to track, please submit suggestions.

Edit: Sithborg made a suggestion in a different thread:

I guess it is down to perspective, I guess. I look at the winning squads of the Store Championships, and I'm seeing variety. Such amazing variety. Some see a single Firespray, and assume the squad is the same, ignoring the very intrinsic differences between say, Krassix vs a Bounty Hunter. A big issue I have with the analysis is that it is too focused on the individual ships, not squads.

I agree, I would also like to track squad types. I'll think about adding archetypes into the spreadsheet.

Also, update, I forgot to include this PM in my updates. This is a PM from marksoul:

User Atomicboxer (Jake Pichelmeyer) won the Bayshore one with a 7 tie swarm. It was Howl, Backstabber, Black Squadron with DTF, and 4 Academy I think. Possibly one small upgrade on Howl.
User Picasso won the other one I was at in Greenfield with 3 shuttles and Fel. I believe one shuttle had vader, and the other 2 had FCS. Fel only had PTL I think.
I added these 2 to the bottom of the list in the GoogleDoc. I am also about to send out a PM to both of them to ask for clarification. Also, that 2nd list is crazy. We're seeing shuttles being used in non-support roles.

The Games Emporium - Mansfield, UK

5 April 2014

10 entrants

Winning list:

Han Solo

Wedge

Biggs

Second place:

Chewie - luke, expert handling, mellenium falcon upgrade

Blue - FCS

Blue - FCS

Third:

7 Tie swarm

That list is correct for me. Not my idea tho. Can't take credit for it.

Keep em coming!

Updated

Some more clarifications from Picasso via PM:

Ok the two barrister events had 19 in attandence at both events.

Jake won the first one by flying a seven tie swarm. He was at 97 points.
The second one in greenfield I won with the shuttle list.
I don't know if you have kryptonite collectables.
19 in attendance. I won that one flying Luke Biggs and wedge. Wedge had an R2 and ptl. Luke had dtf r2d2 and a shield upgrade. Biggs an r2 and shield upgrade.
Chris Neumann won game universe. There were only ten players I will get his list for you. I believe he had Bobba Fett
So in summary, I updated these:
2/22/2014
Board Game Barrister
Bayshore, Wisconsin (19)
Atomic Boxer
Imperial Howl, Backstabber, Black Squadron with DTF, and 4 Academy.
3/8/2014 (I looked up the date on their event calendar)
Board Game Barrister
Greenfield, Wisconsin (19)
Picasso
Omicron Group Pilot + Vader, 2x Omicron Group Pilot, Fel + PtL
(we already have the details on the kryptonite SC)
I also put a placeholder for:
Date???
Game Universe
???, Wisconsin (10)
Chris Neumann
Boba Fett?
This would be the first use of Boba Fett if true!
