Tournament this weekend. Guns on Target all the time list.

By Englishpete, in X-Wing

So we have our store championship this weekend and I am feeling particularly lazy and want to fly two ships so I came up with the ubiquitous firespray list.

Boba Fett, Gunner, Expert Handling, Engine Upgrade (50)

Kath Scarlett, Gunner, Expert Handling, Engine Upgrade (49)

Now, I have both EH and Engine Upgrade for different situations, the idea is to put guns on the target all the time and the extra maneuverability from both these things will allow that when combined with the rear fire arc.

Gunner is there to help with action loss when using EH or EU.

It's a tough list to crack HP wise and should be able to lay down continuous fire.

How would you fly against it?

Well, seeing as both of them will move after everyone in most of my lists, I would probably think about action denying one of them, and focusing it down. Move the A wing in to block, this prevents you from boosting/BR, so I can lock down R1 shots with the rest of my list. throwing 4 dice 3 times, especially since you don't have a F, will make quick work of a ship, averaging 2.26 damage each, totaling 7.78 damage in the first round of engagement. One more attack next turn and one of them goes down.

Meanwhile, the return fire would be at most 2 R1 shots, naked, against lets say a B wing... 1.65 average damage there, times two... and you've done 3.3 damage to me... half way there to killing a B wing. Next turn, you should be able to take out the B wing before it shoots, so I'm left with 3 ships at full health, but taking out the injured FS should be easy. Now it's 3v1, and the chase starts. You do have the advantage on the run due to the rear arc, and the fact that I can't reliably block a 1 straight and a 4 straight, not to mention all of the banks/turns, so I'd have to stay behind, and suck up the attack. And you can then run away and out of shots from me.

A poor player might decide to split his forces up to corner you, but this provides 1v1 situations for the FS, which it should win. And before long, it's 2v1, and then potentially 1v1. I would keep my 3 remaining ships together and hunt you down. If you keep running away, I probably won't get another shot on, but I've killed 49-50 points, and you've killed 22-27 points... Not enough for a full win, but you'd have to kill 2 of my ships in order to take the modified win away from me (Unless I was running 2 AdvS Daggers... then just killing both of them would give you the win).

I have flown this, and didn't like it. Maybe it was because I had a great angle on his big point ship, and then I parked Kath on a rock....twice. Kath maybe got off 2 shots before I was down to one ship.

to fly against. some running as blockers and focus fire. work one down then the next one.

You guys are both spot on with the focus fire and that is what I will be looking to reduce options on.

I have flown this list before and it can win big or lose big, but it's a hell of a game.

I've literally barrel rolled out of arcs or straight over ships or boosted around them.

Keeping all four ships on target of one of mine is not quite as easy as it looks, but is the approach to take.

The rear arc really is a boon in this set up as it does allow the running and gunning option.

if 2 ships is how you want to go try this:

soontir+ptl+stealth

trelix+load him out with missiles, bonus shield, heavy canon, gunner, and proton bomb

I think its like 96 points.

I ran this and trelix went down, but not before causing a crap load of damage to every ship and destroying 1.

then soontir ans his "what the Fel" maneuvering cleaned up the rest without sustaining a single hit
