Creative artwork cards

It´s a good idea, but far too powerful.

Elrond + Nor am I a Stranger + Unexpected Courage + a Burning Brand + that Herugrim version...

For 8 resources and 4 cards, you get a 3,2,3,4 hero who first quest for 3, then defend for 3 ignoring shadows, and then attack back with 5. That is almost a one-hero deck. Then use Galadriel for card draw and some other spirit hero (Glorfindel is a good choice becouse of his questing and attack abilities, his low threat and Asfaloth).

That is a REALLY powerful deck.

Or Gimli (nor am I a stranger again), who first defend, take damage, ready him and attack with 4-8.

I'm tired of Elrond and Elrohir being the only decent Noldor defenders.

So, just because.......

That ability is awesome. Not too overpowered but still really useful. Should probably be limit once per round though... also the whole return a card from your discard pile can potentially be incredibly powerful. You could return test of will or feint almost every turn and shut down treacheries/enemy attacks.

One Test of Will a turn? Yes please! :P

I do really still like the ability but it could potentially be way too strong.... hmmm... maybe if it only returns a lore card or something... or can only return say allies?

...

Actually wait never mind!!!! There has to be a shadow and it has to do nothing so you can't discard the shadow card to make it work for example. This won't trigger as often as I was for some reason assuming it was and so would only return a card to hand every 2 or 3 turns in most situations at best.
I think it probably is quite balanced in the end..

Ah, good call on the "once per round," Psycho. :)

I'll add that.

Also, I just realized that I needed to clarify in cases where there are multiple shadow cards --- in this case, all of the shadow cards have to have no printed shadow effect.

Looks more like a Silvan elf to me.

sorry never finished my earlier post, fixed it!

I can´t see the card, could you write it down in a comment please?

10/2/1/3/4 Noldor. Noble. Rawrrior.

Sentinel.

Response: When Arthandal defends an attack with one or more shadow cards and none of the cards has a printed shadow effect, choose one: return a card from your discard pile to your hand, or ready a Noldor ally you control. (Limit once per round.)

Good idea Felonius, congrats

Good Card. The idea is really good, but a repetable Elrond's counsil is just too powerful. Maybe balance it a little?

I also think that a returning ANY card to your hand can be really OP. Maybe limit to lore cards, like Háma hero does.

Does anyone has a idea to balance hero Dori, so he is useful instead of a scrub?

Change the text to: Response: After another hero or Dwarf character is declared as a defender, that character gains +2 def for this attack? (Limit once per round.)

Returning a card to hand from the discard pile is pretty amazing, especially since it is fairly repeatable. What if, instead, it simply let you control what was on top of your discard pile.

So I've been wanting to come up with a way to include treasure cards into a deck without it only being from the Saga quests. Now surely I could have just as easily made these standard attachments, but that defeats the principle idea. I also thought that, unlike the Signal that can only be used for Ranger of the North allies, I wanted a generic event that would allow a player to use it to get their desired treasure card. Also, because of Vilya, I included text to not let it be cheated into play - bypassing the cost restrictions.

I also know that some dislike items that are specific for a hero, but with the items I was making I felt it didn't feel right to allow them to be used without the proper person. Ideally the treasure cards, and event, would be released as a print-on-demand option so as to not bog down player cards with hero-specific items.

2 resources for just shuffling a thing into your deck from out of play? Man, that's harsh.

I'm OK with it being cheaper - or even free for that matter. what about the concept and other cards in general? I was trying to make them powerful but not OP and to match their theme.

If you can choose character, it is large versatile, to me is ok 2 resources

Hmmm....... I'm torn about changing Arthandal's text.

On the one hand, if you get really lucky, you could theoretically be popping a card back into your hand every round. Or you could go 3-4 rounds with never being able to use the ability at all.

I don't know what the average frequency of getting a shadow card with no printed effect is. In most games I'd say it's around 60/40 that a shadow card won't have an effect, maybe slightly less, like 55/45. If a typical game lasts say, 10 rounds, it would seem to me that the ability would trigger between 4 and 5 times.

I guess for some decks that would be pretty powerful. So it probably makes sense to limit the card retrieval ability to just Lore sphere cards and Noldor allies.

I think a good balance for Arthandil is adding "I...discard a card from your hand to...", as lore cards are not so expensive to draw, and it pairs nicely with the new noldor discard deck. Then limit to lore or noldor is not as needed.

Been a while since I made anything new, so I decided to come back with something utterly broken.

Why is it broken?

I think it is a well balanced card.

Because Arwen.

Given a once per round limit, I don't see how Arwen/Cirdan/Erestor makes this card broken. He tops out at 1 extra resource or losing a resource for a card, which doesn't seem any more broken than the other resource generating or discount giving heroes in the game. What am I missing?

Turn one with Arwen and this hero, you begin with 5 ressources ... So powerfull ...
