Creative artwork cards
Yep, that's MtG art that I found looking similar to what Middle Earth's vampire might represent (in my head, from what I have read about them).
Here I tried to create sort of a "boss" enemy to face at the end of the quest, which would be scaled well with the number of players (so, for example, final quest card will only reveal him with any number of players opposed to revealing other random stuff for more than one player), and tried to make him not immune to player cards effects (to be fun to fight against, using direct damage and various stat reductions), while preventing major stuff that can make him a cake walk via the text box.

What do you think? Can he still be abused?
I did a quick search for LOTR cards that can abuse him and I couldn´t find anything. He can be attached, but since his attacks can´t be prevented, the best attachment is poison stakes which is fine, only 2 dmg a turn.
Most events that can be played against him are the direct dmg ones or shadow discard, which are also fine.
He does not seem abusable. I wish that LOTR had a keyword like your Call of Cthulhu adaptation that would reduce the amount of wording he has (Enormous, Fatal Protection, Unstoppable, etc)
I think I prefer the idea of "Attacks cannot be prevented" because it seems like that's all that our current text "Immune to player card effects" is trying to do.
In the First Age custom set, the keyword "Relentless" was added to mean precisely "Attacks cannot be prevented". It was a very nice innovation, and indeed so much better than "Immune to player card effects".

Don't forget that little bugger:
That card was errated =D
O Elbereth! Gilthonial! D 132 Title should read: “A Elbereth! Gilthonial!” Should read: “Response: After a non-unique enemy attacks you...”
If you make the enemy unique, he is immune.
Edited by EdvandoI think they should update card images with the errata'd text on their own card database...
I wish they print something similar one day =D
I had this thing stuck inside my head for a couple of days now.
I think an ally like Ascended Champion, if real, would have weaker stats (like 1,1 and 1) and would probably cost 3. Super card, taught!

I like Hirluin effect, just think that he cost 12 threat, same as some powerhouse main heroes Aragorn, Beorn, Theoden, Thorin and Glorfidendel. He is not that poweful or important. I would prefer him much more if he was 10 costed and another dude/gal that is not Outland. Also, as written, his name is different then the old Hirluin and could be played together by the rules.
Ascendent Champion is really cool and unique. I like her. I would enjoy more if she had some kind of drawback Noldor related and costed 3, so being more viable and easier to play. She has Wandering Ent stats but you paid 1 resource to eliminate the enter exhausted drawback and 1 resource for her ability. She is cool and can find spot in some quests, but probable not good enough to be played in random quests, even if you plan to cheat her into play, you could do the same to unique powerful allies.
Well yes, because it's a joke
I literally implanted the Fair and Perilous event into the Hirluin the Fair becaue of that unhealthy association I had

Some Tactics thoughts on the new Noldor stuff:
Interesting effecto of the Guardian of the Rim
Oh wow I think that Elein of the Sword is perhaps my favorite custom card ive seen from you John. I think she could easily be an actual card and fits perfectly with the new noldor mechanic.
The Esper background and over the top clothing look a bit out of place, but mechanically she's pretty interesting. Now the Guardian of the Rim looks amazing, especially the art. I would go even further and make him a unique ally, just because that armor looks way too cool for a regular elf.
I like Elein a lot. She even uses my idea of exhausting attachments to use abilities and limit the number of times they can be done that I brought up in the Elrond for direct damage thread
That guardian guy is odd though.

Both of these are cool, well design and feel balanced. Great job!

oh wow I didnt even notice it was mtg art at first, it's naya hushblade or something isnt it? Used to use that card in a deck....
Well, I didn't knew it was her until you mentioned her name and now I can confirm that this is indeed her
I just got lazy in my pursuits of searching for art as of lately, MtG has a lot of quality artwork so I just browse their galleries when I need something.

I'm not sure why you think it's odd, but I'll explain my thoughts behind him.
He is an extremely stat efficient for his cost, even too stat efficient. And he also has a Sentinel keyword. So he must come with some sort of penalty, which is him taking damage for each card in your hand. He's also a Noldor, and the current Noldor theme is discarding cards from your hand. So, when you play Noldor themed deck, you'll have the best circumstances to play him as you'll be discarding a lot of cards.

Not bad, they seem more balanced than usual considering they are from Constantine
Noldorian merchant is visiting. And he brought some fine piece of elven work with him too!
