Tantive IV info

So what WILL Princess Leia do? R2-D2 has to do with repairs (again), C3PO is a joke for the fans ("Never tell me the odds!"). How can Leia help the Rebel Scum?

Well she was primarily a diplomat and then later a military leader, possibly something with coordinate?

Maybe she'll have some secret plans. Something to do with seeing another ships dial (but in a different way), or choosing another ships action, or just affecting attacks against another ship?

I'm sure her role will be based on the films rather than EU.

Those were her roles in the films. Darth Vadar and Tarkin call her Senator and she claims she was on a diplomatic mission in a new hope, in Empire and Jedi she is clearly acting as an officer.

Oh yeah! Duh!

My money's still on something diplomatic, given the context (and the card illustration).

I'm not sure it would have anything to do with an action that only a capital ship can take, because then she can't be equipped to other crew-able ships. Could be wrong, but she was on the Falcon quite a lot, so it makes sense that she is helpful to other ships too. I do agree with the support role, though. Maybe something like:

At the start of the activation phase, choose one friendly ship at range 1-3. You may swap Pilot Skill Rank with that ship for the rest of the round.

OR

After you execute your maneuver, you may choose one ship at Range 1-2. You may perform one action from that ship's action bar instead of your own.

OR the reverse:

After a friendly ship at Range 1-2 executes a maneuver, it may perform an action from your action bar instead of its own.

Thoughts? For instance, if you have the Millenium Falcon title, let's say Wedge gets caught facing away from the enemy. As his action, he could take an evade action. OR the first one, if there is an E-wing nearby, the Falcon could perform a barrel roll or evade action.

OR another idea. Since she stole intel from the Empire for the rebels, maybe this:

After you execute a maneuver, choose an enemy ship at Range 1-3. You may perform one action from that ship's action bar instead of your own.

That could basically allow a Falcon to barrel roll past a TIE swarm but still get a Range side shot.

Thoughts? Maybe as another ship card ability if not Leia or a crew member?

I could see her being the rebel counterpart to the rebel captive, maybe instead of a stress it lowers attack by one? After all the empire doesn't want the bad press of murdering a diplomat, and they'd want her alive for questioning.

After all the empire doesn't want the bad press of murdering a diplomat...

That's the advantage of controlling the press. You don't get bad press. Even if it did, I don't think the Empire cared what people thought. Clearly once the Empire disbanded the Senate, any pretense of caring what people thought was gone.

This would be a WICKED fun ability.

I like the "switch PS with another ship" idea that was listed. That can add some serious depth to the maneuver choice. Given, FFG might decide that it "breaks" the game too much since now you no longer know the true order of operations.

I agree. It would have to be expensive unless it's a one-off and discard, but I don't think its too powerful and it kind of has to do with Leia stealing intel from the Empire.

Vonpenguin, are you referring to the same Empire that blew up Alderran, a planet full of diplomats?

You forget, fear will keep them in line.

Yes, yes I am. One is a tragedy a million is a statistic.

It would be…but Leia is coming with the Tantive IV. Theres no way this could be her ability unless it can't work with a capital ship. Barrel roll it! Boost it!

Ha, barrel roll the Tantive IV, that would take out half of the ships on the board with one move.

Things will get really funny when falcons start to become invisible by cloning the ability of TIE Phantoms...

Maybe she has some annoying ability to select one ship at range 1-2 and then take their EPT and give it to the ship she is on, probably discarding her after you use the ability.

Hmm, I like the idea of her exposing a weakness is someone else, as though she has plans of their ship. But I dunno how they could do that without it being similar to Etahn or something else. Also, that was quite a specific thing she did, not something so does as a habit, and actually she was only transporting the plans, so ignore me, it's a rubbish idea.

I think she should boost morale in some way. Maybe ships at range 1-3 can take actions even if they have stress tokens. This might be OP. But reflects the fact that she is a leader vital to the rebellion, and those fighting for her fight harder to protect her. Other options might include a global PS boost or determination for all friendly ships within a certain range. Maybe she can designate a ship to receive draw their fire for the round. None of these may be balanced, FYI

Yeah, that might be OP, but it could be made a once per round thing - once per round after a friendly shape in range 1-3 performs a manoeuvre remove one stress token from that ship.

I go away for a weekend and this happens?

Ok, did anyone else notice that this does NOT come with any stress tokens? Every ship comes with stress tokens since every ship has a red maneuver. I could wallpaper my place with stress tokens. Yet this ship lacks them entirely.

I assume from this that none of the maneuvers that the Corvette can take are red. Could these craft be immune to stress? I certainly doubt that none of the unrevealed cards for this beast add stress to something.

It certainly makes sense that the capital ships wouldn't take stress.
