Men of Pride

Non-unique characters lose all keywords

Does this card blank the text of characters who are not in play?

What happens if there are two constant effects - one removing the keywords and one giving the keywords?

I had a copy of Dragon Egg in play (on an opponents character) and someone played Men of Pride ...

We were not sure whether my non-unique Targ characters - that were not in play - still have ambush ... I assumed the plot only affects characters in play

A similar situation arose a while back when someone was playing the Noble Cause agenda

Your [baratheon] characters with printed cost 2 or higher gain renown.

Do they retain renown when Men of Pride is in play?

Cards only work on other cards that are in play (unless they specifically say otherwise). This card will not take away the keywords of non-uniques in you hand, discard pile, etc.

Keywords are like traits, icons, STR, and everything else: when there are multiple modifiers, you add them together and apply the result. So Men of Pride vs. an effect that grants keywords would look like "1 - 1 = 0," leaving the character with whatever it has printed.
