Droid Prices and Stats:

By Sylrae, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm having a hard time finding information on buying droids, and what that entails.

More current RPG numbers for droid prices, taken from the Beta book:

1st degree Medical Droid: 12,000 credits

2nd degree Astromech Droid: 8250 credits

2nd degree Maintenance Droid: 7500 credits

3rd degree Protocol Droid: 8000 credits

4th degree Security Droid: 9600 credits

4th Degree Assassin Droid: 65,000 credits (note that this is an enemy that's capable of fighting a whole party

4th degree Antiquated Battle Droid: 6500 credits

Now, I don't have the EotE Beta, just the final version. So, I'm curious; (as a GM) Do these droids with price points have stats I can see somewhere?

Are there others?

Check for the prices back in the adversaries section where the Droid stats show up. You'll find them there.

Oh, Thanks!

It hadn't occurred to me to check there! :)

Hah, what a coincidence... I was looking for the prices as well, and couldn't find them either. Thanks!

If you can find one for sale, the Assassin Droid is a much better deal at 65000 than ten crappy battle droids at 6500 each.

Assassin Droids (how many s in a word... XD) stats are a bit overpowered or do you think that are just fine?

Not sure if Magna Guards from Grievous are from this class, but Ashoka from the movies (a padawan yet) is capable to defeat 3 of them.

Any idea?

Assassin droids are tough - for low to medium XP PCs. They are not likely as big of a deal to highly experienced PCs. They are also very expensive.

As for what star characters of a TV show can do, I wouldn't try to rate that in a RPG (even one meant to emulate the same universe) since stars can accomplish whatever the script demands.

I'm not a Star Wars GM, I don't own the core book... do Assassin droids have retractable claws built into their hands?

They have claws, but I don't remember if they are retractable or not.

I think we fought 5 of them on Sunday (it was justified - we'd put ourselves in a situation where we were in well and trully over our heads). Manny took two of them by crushing them in a blast door (Space Crusade style).
