Dark Heresy Adepticon Report

By Guest, in News

Greetings Dark Heresy fans!

Last weekend I was at Adepticon , a huge gathering of Warhammer 40,000 enthusiasts. Fantasy Flight Games made an appearance there (you can see our booth in the picture below—the waving chap in the blue shirt is me), and we had a truly wonderful time meeting lots of Dark Heresy players and talking about the future of the game line. If you’ve never been to Adepticon, it is a brilliant showcase of customized miniatures, from the largest Titans to the smallest squigs. Groups compete in team tournaments, wear coordinated team “uniforms,” and show off their work in painting competitions.

One of the most impressive pieces at the show was Red Orktober, an enormous Ork spacecraft bristling with weapons! We were also very impressed by Girls Gone Chaos, a mingled Sister of Battle/Chaos team who had a superb theme to their armies.

I was invited to participate in two great podcasts (or internet radio if you prefer!). Dice Like Thunder interviewed me for an entire episode about Dark Heresy , and I was a guest on 40K Radio’s live show from Adepticon as well. You can see in the picture below the 40K Radio setup. 40K Radio also got a chance to interview the Adepticon Guest of Honor, Gav Thorpe! Gav is a Black Library author and former Design Team member from the Games Workshop Studio.

Many Dark Heresy fans stopped by the booth to marvel at the books, make some purchases, and talk about upcoming books like Tattered Fates (coming very soon to a game store near you!). I also had a sneak preview of The Radical’s Handbook for those lucky enough to be at the show to see it! (Never fear, that same preview will be making its way to a designer diary in the near future)

The Next Step

As I mentioned above, I will have some upcoming designer diaries dedicated to Tattered Fates and The Radical’s Handbook coming soon, so watch this space for more exciting news about Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay!

Dark Heresy is a roleplaying game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the grim darkness of the far future. Players take on the roles of Acolytes serving the Inquisition, rooting out heresy and corruption from within the galaxy-spanning Imperium of Man.
