Um, yeah, you got me. That was an important point to make. Glad you sorted it out!
Dangerous Covenants off the boat and SHIPPING!!
I should note... the Demolitionist tree is NOT the same as the Saboteur talent tree from AoR... even if they might share some talents.
Also, the book includes rules for using demolition explosives (ie. the type you plant, wire, and detonate from a distance), rather than a thrown grenade type. Mind you, from what I've seen so far there's also lots of 'splody stuff, but it does seem to keep the power creep down... but do keep in mind, this is the sourcebook for the big personal weapons.
Edited by AgatheronThere are three new ones, as listed here . Enforcer, demolitionist and heavy.
Okay, Demolitionist seems pretty straightforward, but what make the Enforcer and Heavy unique? I'm kinda hoping that the Heavy is a heavy weapons specialist.
Is there a chance we can get a breakdown of the new gear and ships? Just a list of names please.
I'd like to see the bonus career skills for the new specs, and some idea as to what 'Enforcer' and 'Heavy' are supposed to represent.
I'm assuming 'Enforcer' is the goon-type legbreaker muscle (maybe Brawl and Intimidate based), and 'Heavy' means 'heavy-weapon specialist' rather than thug.
Edited by MaeloraI have as hoping that Enforcer was law enforcement-based, but considering the thug bias that's coming through, I'm going to guess it's more gangster-based.
Oh yeah, I hadn't thought of that HD... a kind of 'riot cop' law enforcer? That would be cool.
I'm guessing it's more of a 'protection racket' type thing though... 'Nice little cantina you have here... be a shame if something happened to it...'
Personally I also would like to see more HG archetypes that weren't goons. An ex-cop would be a great idea for a PC.
Or not even an ex-cop. There's no reason a PC couldn't be a law enforcement officer, particularly of a backwater planetary force.
That would work if the PCs are usually in one place. If they are travelling the galaxy on an old tramp freighter, you might have to be an ex-cop. Maybe one who was too honest for the Empire, or framed for a crime.
Though thinking about it, the specialisations are fairly broad. 'Mercenary Soldier' could cover that kind of character fairly well.
Riffing on these last few posts, it would be cool to create an ex-Sector Ranger type. I realize that FFG hints that this NPC is more of a BH archetype, but I could see an HG spec-variant lending itself to that as well...Hired Gun/Merc/BGH?
So it looks like Agatheron got a copy too and the heat is off me to provide all the information. I agree with his assessment, I'm 50 pages in now and really enjoying what I see.
If I were to pick out one issue, I'm not sure how man-portable anti-vehicle weapons are actually going to really take out something with any respectable armor.
There's quite a bit of new gear and ships, it's a lot to digest.
Our species are Aqualish, Klatooinian, and Weequay.
@themensch: I got lucky this time. No guarantees on the next one... So the heat's not totally off you.
The Heavy is indeed the Heavy Weapons specialist. In fact, it's possible that a fully developed Heavy could carry and fire a heavy repeating blaster from the hip a la Blain's mini gun from Predator. It's a bit over the top, to be sure, but that's part of the fun.
Oh yes, the Aqualish also has three subspecies that one chooses from, each with a different special ability.
As for personal anti-vehicle weapons, there's a few, but don't expect to take down a walker with anything sentient-portable. There are a few personal-level weapons that have a Breach rating.
But is there the concussion rifle in the game?
How about the enforcer?
Career skills, pretty please?!?!
Any fancy one-handed swords/knives? Don't have to be specific on stats, but names would be appreciated.
I have no idea what vehicles are in this one. Any hints?
The spoiler have been few so far. I'm hopeful that'll change over the next few days.
Rapid fire questions... appropriate for the book. I'll see what I can do.
But is there the concussion rifle in the game?
Not that I can see in this book. There are concussion missiles and some very big blaster weapons.
How about the enforcer?
The enforcer is basically the intimidating muscle... oddly enough, is as skilled at preventing a fight (intimidation/coercion) as they are at finishing it. They have some social capability. I think there's a lot of potential with it.
Career skills, pretty please?!?!
Let's see...
Enforcer: Brawl, Coercion, Knowledge (Underworld), Streetwise
Demolitionist: Computers, Cool, Mechanics, Skullduggery
Heavy: Gunnery, Perception, Ranged (Heavy), Resilience
If any of you listened to the podcast of Order66 with Sam Stewart a little while back, he dropped all kinds of spoilers on the SIgnature Abilities.

Yes. The Wookie Ryyk blade. The other blades are two-handers.
I have no idea what vehicles are in this one. Any hints?
Lots. Seriously. Everything from speeders to capital ships... so I can't be that specific without knowing what you're looking for.

Enforcer is exactly what I expected.
Demolitionist was as well in general, although glancing at the career skills I am intrigued and curious how many of the talents impact the listed skills.
****... was really hoping the Concussion Rifle would be in this book... maybe the bounty hunter book then.
Perhaps. I can't answer that. I do know that the heavy guns in this are rather powerful, although not quite at the level of the heavy Repeating blaster in the Core Rulebook... but they do add some variety. I see a real effort in this to avoid power creep. If a given weapon is more powerful than the base example, there's some drawback to it. For example, there's a blaster pistol that has a crit value of 2, rather than 3, but it's a big pistol, is encumbrance 2 and cannot be used with any sort of quickdraw talents.
No Quickdraw?!? Now where is the fun in that??........................
The spoiler have been few so far. I'm hopeful that'll change over the next few days.
Seriously... with the last few books we had species stats, bonuses, abilities, etc... I remember making a chiss for a player just based off what was posted in the spoilers. FFG isn't that anal about it, but I understand the desires to be tight with the information. It's killing me though cause my new player want's a weequay and the local establishment (or San Antonio, in general) is horrid about getting the books in- even on time. They run about a week late.
