Power Armour

By Santiago, in Dark Heresy

Okay,

First a question, does power armour weight count against your encumberance, I would say no, it's powered.

Second:
What would be the minimum extra's normaly added to a Military, non Astartes, Power Armour:
- Micro-bead
- Respirator
- Photo-visor

I would agree with all of the above as long as it is charged of course.

I would say a helmet would contain a vox-caster/micro-bead, an internal chrono, an external speaker, infra-red vision and photo-visor and possibly an auto-sense array, which gives the wearer +10 to Awareness.

I'd say it has a Respirator/Rebreather Combo to represent the Life Support, Photo/IR Visor Magnoculars combo to represent Auto-Sensors, Micro-Bead for the Coms and likely a Data Slate (With built in Crono) as well, Given the number of Minies that seem to fire Bolters one handed Recoil Gloves. an Injector (or Multiple Injectors) with internal Medication store and an input jack. and that's just the stuff from the Core Book

I know it sounds like a lot but this is ment to be the penultimate in Infantary Combat Protection and Tactical Gear.

I agree with your minimums, and that yes, power armour does not count towards encumberance.

I'd say there is a vast array of potential bulit in gear for power armour, but in terms in minimums, I think they would be it.

There's a very nifty fan-made power armor supplement on the Internet... somewhere... (not Dark Reign, I don't think... I've seen it, I know it exists!)

I agree, the bare minimum would be full life support (and by extension comms with external speaker) and eye proection.

Of course power armours probably so rare and valuable that they are all considered custom.

Actually there's one over at Dark Reign, written by Luddite IIRC. It certainly does power armour more justice than the DH core rules.
