If you ever planned to be near Paris that week...

A little review on this:
There was 24 slots, split over 5 slots in 5 factions (Hobbit, Dwarf, Rohan, Gondor and Elf).
Elrond was always picked, Glorfindel almost
Pippin was always picked (someone made a Pippin I, Fatty, Frodo deck (Pippin I ability was never used))
Eleanor was almost always there (the player without her finish last...)
Gondor with Hirluin (he was put in the Gondor faction) were the best decks, the one including lot of doom cards was even better.
Players were really pleased with this method, it was easier for side-decking and table pairing moreover it promoted thematic deck. Sure, some hero were hard to pick, being isolated in their faction.
It was table of 4 with noone to overview but competition was not encouraged. Time limit of 2 hours.
We played GNK4, The Hobbit Under Hill and Over Hill + Stone of Erech.
We must Away: quite simple when you realise the only thing you can do is kill the troll and forgot about the treasure.
Over the Misty Mountain: very close to the normal mode, more hard mountain trekking and more wave of endless gobelin.
Dungeon Deep: some lucky guys get the riddle right, but still lose after except for one table. It ususually ended pretty fast.
Stone: great mechanic and lots of tricky situation.
Let us know if you want to know more. http://sdajce.forumactif.org/f89-lotr-international

Very cool man! I remember some players from last time when i was there in April! You have a good job Mikka! Keep it on!
One question: what do you think about NM Hobbit? Is better then RTM Nmode quests? Play much mote different?
Thank you
We must Away: the concept was not so diferent, don't try to overquest in a all in, that's all.....
Over the Misty Mountain: the first step is here to discard all your cards and ally, so you'll have nothing against the gobelin. They are quite more nasty, and the aftermath of killing the king put a lot of pressure.
Dungeon Deep: silly and stupid riddle. Completly broke any strategy, test only your luck, very disapointed.
Thanks Glaurung,
Unfortunately, the event was limited to 24 players so I only played the first game in order to replace two players whom overslept.
We were lucky enought to empty our Encounter Deck even if a new treachery card worked fiercely against it.
As for the two other scenarii, the general feeling was the one depicted by Alogos as much as I can recall.

Yes about riddles i was sure something like this…..
Im not really exiting about Hobbits NMode. KD looks more interesting actually…..

Yeah I gotta agree Glaurung..... ever since nightmare Hobbit was announced I was a bit worried about it as I already find two of the first Hobbit Saga quests hard and complex enough as they are... namely We Must Away (those trolls wreck anyone not playing super low starting threat which I never ever play, prefer hard hitting high starting threat decks and hate having to make an entirely new deck just for one scenario so never do...) and Dungeons Deep and Caverns Dim (riddles work awesome thematically but I hate losing the riddles and having the possibility of losing the game simply from the riddles and Gollum killing Bilbo regardless of how well my decks are actually doing....).
Now that spoilers are up online both nightmare versions look super dodgy (Over Misty Mountains Grim looks pretty good however so not talking about that one), too hard in silly ways (riddles are too luck based and some cards in the troll quest such as the one that makes you proceed immediately to stage 2... just seem stupidly hard and not in a fun way) and just seem not very well designed overall.
Nightmare Khazad Dum on the other hand is goddamn amazing, don't think they could have done a better job, CANNOT WAIT for the rest of Dwarrowdelf to have nightmare versions!
