Let's see, all of that was published beginning in 1997 and 1998. I think the statute of limitations on spoilers has long since expired.

Did you know Vader is Luke's father?
Oh, should I spoiler warning that too? That's From 1980, only 18 years before find our who Soontir is married to. About the same as the 16 years it's been since then.
Why do you suck so bad...?

There's no shame in missing that. It only comes up in a few of the X-Wing books and New Jedi Order books.
Funnily enough, of the four PS 9 pilots in the game, three are Corellian.
Also, as of the most recent books, they are now all related, as Jaina Solo (Han's daughter, Vader's granddaughter) marries Jagged Fel (Soontir's son, Wedge's nephew)
Help me out here as I am a casual fan at best. What is EU?

Extended Universe. Basically anything that wasn't in the 6 movies and depending on who you talk to the Clone Wars cartoon. Some think it's canon others don't. I think officially it's canon though.
George Lucas had this idea at one point about what is and is not canon for the Star Wars universe.
The first level was the movies, those are considered the most important and everything to happen in those being the official history.
The next level was TV shows, so anything that happens in a TV show is true, unless the movie says otherwise.
Then there's the books, comic books, video games, ect... Those are generally wrapped up into a single unit we call the Extended Universe.
Edited by VanorDMAll EU has been grandfathered and made officially canon. The only thing we need to look at is what Disney will do with said canonical imformation. With luck they embrace it and utilize it in upcoming movies and any TV series they may do.

There's more to that!
Jagged Fel and Jaina start a dynasty which will rule as new Emperors to remains of the Empire.
Anyway, when you dive into the EU, you learn so many fun facts that various authors added to the universe...

That's not quite true. Disney has stated that all EU will be canon, once they figure out what parts of the EU they're keeping, and what they're throwing out.
Sure they can do as they please, I just meant that before they got it it was considered canon.. I think they should just leave it alone, and take it as is. All they will do by discarding an aspect is anger fans..

Personally, I stick to the books, as the comics and games have a tendency to...sensationalize...to a greater degree. Not that it wouldn't be an amazing story.
But keep in mind Jag resigns after setting in motion a democratization of the Empire. Then again, a lot can change in a century so I'm not ruling anything out either.
*sigh*
"Wes, please tell me you're joking."
I was looking for concept art(for ships) that led to comic book art that led to the a fore mentioned topic... I had forgotten what I was looking for, internet wanderlust, and ended up posting here.
I am digging into some relevant novel and comic book lists to try and pull a chronological history to read through.
The spoiler aspect does not bother me so much, I just do not want to ruin it for others that have not read the stories yet.

I'm away from my bookshelf at the moment, but there's a "spine" of primary novels, for lack of a better word, that are the foundation of the Expanded Universe. The X-Wing series, the Heir to the Empire trilogy, and eventually the New Jedi Order books make up most of this "spine".
Personal opinions vary on quality, obviously, and everyone has there own idea of "true" canon. I will admit to personal bias in favor of all three series. That aside, however, they make up about half of the published novels, and maintain story continuity and internal consistency throughout.
If you want a detailed list, I can send it in a message or post it later.
Disney's statement last month was that 'everything going forward will be canon'; what they choose to bring forward from prior material is up to them.
Generally, I think this is a good thing. There was a lot of drek that will best be left behind. And to avoid confusion, everything going forward will all be Star Wars without a hierarchy of belief systems to wade through.
