I'm bashing an X-TIE Ugly together for the fun of it. What kind of stats should it have? I was thinking 2/2/2/2 would be pretty accurate. Firepower of the TIE, agility of the X-Wing, lower hull value because its pieced together, shields a little lower than X-Wing for same reason.
Stats for X-TIE?
From what I understand about the X TIE, it has the S foils of the X wing, and cockpit of the TIE fighter. Since the shield generator is part of the center part of the X wing, I would think it wouldn't have shields
3 (from x wing cannons) / 2 (it's hacked together) / 3 (hull is the same on both) / 0 (no shield generator) / Dial from TIE Fighter since it has the TIE engines.
Share some pics, please. Love me some uglies.
I'm doing the X-TIE from the Corellian trilogy books with the X-Wing fuselage and TIE solar panels. You can see it on Wookiepedia.
Yeah, but we want to see your cool work!
Well then, in that case, they're mounting 2 X wing cannons where the proton torpedoes were... so 1.5 attack
. Which I would think would round up to 2 to make them usable.
I would go with the X wing dial, though I might add some red to it, reflecting the hobble job and that it might not hold together, so to speak, under aggressive maneuvers.
2 / 1 / 3 / 1
It should have a shield generator, but I'm thinking since its profile has to be extended over a greater area, it's probably not as strong. You could probably convince me evade 2, but here's my logic. The pilot can't really see very well since there are these giant things blocking his vision. Furthermore, he has much more inertia than a TIE does, so he can't roll on a dime or whatever. Finally, he has a larger cross section to shoot at from above/below + side/side. As such, more hits will get through in general over a TIE or X wing.
It doesn't have engines, so I would give it a 1 forward each turn.
A hawk dial might be good. 2-1-2-1, because it is cobbled together. droid, 10 points.
Ew. Can't stand the idea of uglies. I just don't get it. Sure, you can have parts from one vehicle in another, but why on earth would you combine the frames as well? Just sort of dumb and... well, ugly.
This particular Ugly seems like it should maneuver like the X-Wing. I like the idea of changing some maneuvers to red.
I'm making this Ugly because the minis I got from a box set at Target are a little deformed and ugly to begin with. Plus, it'll be fun to use as part of a smuggler/pirate faction.

With pieces set aside from the Target pile, I'll be making 6 X-Ties. Hmm, strapping some engine nozzles on them might be a good idea
I might toss in some Y-Wing parts for more variety of uglies.
Because, well, what else would I do with the parts left over after making 6 Twi'lek Chir'daki?
Deathseed I believe? Quite liked the sound of that ugly.
I agree that uglies didn't really make much sense in the star wars universe, but eh, they grew on me (like a fungus).
Yup, Chir'daki = Deathseed http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Chir%27daki
Edited by RedWildeHe doesn't want to make Deathseeds. He wants to do the opposite.
...X-Wing fuselage and TIE solar panels.
I would love to make some Deathseeds. I'll pay you for tie cockpits and x-wing foils.
Well, looks like I can just swap the parts to make an X-TIE and a Death Seed, right?

Exactly. I wasn't setting out to make X-TIEs, but that's the parts you have left after making Chir'daki. Or vice-versa ^,^
