Game Aids - Foundations

I find that kinda thing unneeded.

I hardly expect everyone to be interested in every article. You may be interested in later Foundation articles, perhaps not. You may find other stuff in the Quick & Dirty articles to whet your interest.

Cool dude! I like the merits and flaws. Will have my players check out your site and they can use these if they want to. Thanks for your work on this and sharing it.

You are quite welcome. :D These should not be considered exhaustive by any means. Your players will be able to come up with a bunch more probably, but you can use these as a template to help build unique ones. My biggest suggestion is to be careful of what flaws would work best as obligations.

I am very glad you enjoyed it.

A fine endeavour (nothing looks unbalancing). It's not something I need for my character, but it's a good bit of work - nicely done.

Thank you. I try to keep my systems balanced and in check with the rules as written when writing. Thank you for noticing. :D

It's a worthwhile concept but the merits as written strike me as elements a player should develop through their career/spec choice. The concept is a good idea and I think the focus should be to add flavor and substance to the player that is not something gained through existing talents/skills. In other words look at what and how the players do tasks and ask what isn't added by talents/skills and use that as a baseline for creation of merits.

A suggestion would be when adding a boost die to interaction it should be something very narrow and situational, like speaking a specific races native tongue gain a boost die to social interactions with that race. I think language is very over looked. Social standing goes hand in hand with that imo. Purchasing a merit that raises a player's social standing could get them in certain doors, afterwards it's up to them how well the interaction works. Buying contacts perhaps, spending xp to have certain underworld contacts and limit it to perhaps specific regions or a specific person. Just my thoughts.

In regards to combat buffs, I would be very leery of adding anything as there are already a myriad of ways to do that contained within the existing talent/skill system.

Updated with link to the new Sorcery System for alternative settings using EotE and AoR. This should be just what you are looking for if you are wanting to play a urban fantasy or want to add magic to a setting such as Brash Fink's.
