Assault missiles vs swarms?

By Jaden Ckast, in X-Wing

Ok so I was thinking if I choose to face a swarm of ties with rebel ships how does this setup sound? Biggs with a shield upgrade, Dutch Vander, 2 a-wings with prototype pilots and assault missiles. The idea is for Dutch to hand off a target lock to one of the a-wings which frees up a focus to use on the assault missiles. The other a-wing will have to use a target lock for his free action. Biggs takes all the hits to allow the A-wings to get there shots off. I know it's risky being that it's kind of an all or nothing approach but the results could be good being that as long as I get 1 hit the other ships also take 1 hit. Then if the 2nd Awing gets through as well that's another hit on all ships in range 1. Hopefully this would take out at least 2 ties between Biggs and dutch and the 2 awings leaving the rest with only 1 hit each. Any thoughts on this approach?

It's gonna be hard, but doable.

Just make sure Biggs and Dutch strip any focus/evades off the targets first. Even if they don't fall for it, well that's still extra damage that got through.

How lucky do you feel? If you want a swarm of Assault Missiles try:

Dutch + R5-K6 (granted I'd rather not) + (7 points of upgrades)

Bandit Squadron Z-95 + Assault Missile x4

Ideal situation has you move the Z-95s up and focus with two of them. Dutch then moves up and TL giving a TL to a Z. When it is shooting time Dutch spends his TL but gets lucky and acquires another one allowing a different Z to TL. When it comes time for the Bandits to go two could be firing with Focus and although the other two wouldn't have that option.
