Here's another list I don't think I want you to play tonight it kinda scares me
Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22
Fire-Control System 2
Heavy Laser Cannon 7
Blue Squadron Pilot — B-Wing 22
Fire-Control System 2
Heavy Laser Cannon 7
Prototype Pilot — A-Wing 17
Cluster Missiles 4
Prototype Pilot — A-Wing 17
LOL I have the same except I have PTL on a Prototype.
I just like having 1 named pilot in my squads, dunno why, just like it. Help define a bit more a squad thematically for me.
But great idea the 2 Blues with HLC...I really want to try HLC.
But the Blues are low PS and your squads often have higher PS and I want to be able to fire at least once tonight
Lol I'm sure you will. One problem Prototypes can't have PTL lol
Lol you'Re right, I removed 1 FCS and replace a Prot with a Green, my bad.
And i'm settled on what i'll try tonight and not sure if I should post it here lol...i'll get bashed like an armless padawan...
Outer Rim Smuggler + Intelligence Agent + Navigator + Anti-Pursuit Lasers (33)
Dagger Squadron Pilot + Fire-Control System + Heavy Laser Cannon (33)
Dagger Squadron Pilot + Fire-Control System + Heavy Laser Cannon (33)
33, 33, 33
Patrick Roy, best goalie ever so it can't go wrong right? ![]()
Nice I hate it! Lol
Ten Numb + Autoblaster sounds fun too...
Ten Numb + Autoblaster (36)
Biggs Darklighter + R2-D2 (29)
Prototype Pilot (17)
Prototype Pilot (17)
Other question: Can Ten Numb benefit from Marksmanship?
Like in this setup
Ten Numb + Heavy Laser Cannon + Marksmanship (41)
PILOT: 1 of his [crit] cannot be cancelled
HLC: All [crit] becomes [hit] immediately after dice are rolled
MARKS: When attacking you can change one [eye] into a [crit] and all other [eye] into [hit]
Viable? Absurd? **** cool?
Edited by SolennelBernIt works. Hlc changes dice before MMS so yes viable
Yes. Ten with marksmanship can change an eyeball on a HLC shot into a crit, the HLC only cancels initial crits. Even without HLC marksmanship combos amazingly with ten's ability.
He's also good with standard torpedoes but that's more of an aside then anything relevant to what you seem to be aiming for.
I must be getting annoying but **** if I could try 23 squads tonight i'd do it...
The 3 Pewpews from Hell
Ten Numb + Fire-Control System + Autoblaster (38)
Blue Squadron Pilot + Fire-Control System + Heavy Laser Cannon (31)
Wedge Antilles + Squad Leader (31)
I would switch SL to ST on that list. Wedge wants his own action, plus the other two really shouldn't need it with FCS. Meanwhile, ST allows them to shoot at 9/9/8... ****. That hurts.
Me starting to like it! But no A-Wings...
But 3 ships...against probably a Shutle and/or a Firespray + other annoying Empire ships...dunno.
But it's true that the 9/9/8 PS is **** scary and blasting from afar with the Blue could be fun.
Edited by SolennelBernFinally went with:
- Wedge + Swarm Tactics
- Blue + FCS + HLC
- Prototype + Cluster
- Prototype
(100 points)
Worst game ever...lost Wedge on turn 3.
Then lost the Blue on turn 6.
Then one A-Wing on turn 8.
Then the other on turn 10.
Never downed one enemy ship.
Rolled crap all night.
I almost sold my entire collection...
Edited by SolennelBernI firmly suggest if you are going to use two A's in a 4 ship list, try the Green Squad with PTL. It was one of the first ships I got extensive experience with and I just can't really bring myself to ever downgrade. Just focus and evade till you get used to keeping them alive, and then expand your action selections. In my AABB experience it's the slippery A's that have my opponents pulling their hair out, but that may be because I'm just less experienced with the B's (though B's are failry easy to focus down).
I might try that, seems to be the way to go to keep them alive a bit longer and let them do something...
Man tonight was the worst night ever...I was on the brink of pilling my X-Wing stuff and put it all on fire...
Sucks when you can't roll at all and see your ships torn apart in front of you without being able to do ****...
I'm not a huge fan of A-Wings, generally, but I was playing around with the squad builder, and this might work:
2x PtL Greens
1 Blue with HLC and FCS
1 Blue with AdvSens
Blue with Adv is a knife fighter, with a phenomenal close range dial. All ones (except k-1) and twos possible are on the dial, and the AdvSens mitigate the red on the dial.
HLC+FCS Blue is a long range beast, but it will be the high priority target.
The PtL Greens should be pretty good in attack and defense
Typically, I like two blues with HLC, split wide to either side. This forces your opponent to split their forces, or at least lets one HLC keep shooting while your opponent chases down the other. With A-Wings though, I think giving them PtL will nicely boost their offense, either by TL+Focus, or boosting to range one then TL/Focus.
Alternatively, two HLC+AdvSens Blues with a couple of prototype pilots, which puts you on 98 points. Since the A's will have trouble holding up in combat, it makes sense to make the blues more effective dogfighters. Alternatively, double down on the HLCs and go with FCSs, which leaves you on 96 points. I'd probably grab some ordnance to fill the gap, maybe a PT on one of the Bs.
You'd be better off with X-Wings though. 2 Blues with HLC alongside 2 rookies is a killer list.
It's generally accepted that a steath device on a low agi ship is a waste of points. Better off with a shield upgrade. Odds of that SD blocking even a single hit is pretty low.
There's a thread, guessing 3-4 pages back by now that has the math for it.
And at the end of that thread I posted a video proving that stealth device beats shield upgrade. Stealth Device for the win! Even on a B-Wing!
I played BBAH Sunday and won my game. My opponent focused on Kyle and took him out early, but the B-wings were tanks and won the day
