Tycho Celchu fitting in

By AtomicFryingPan, in X-Wing

Hey I'm wondering if anyone has had success with Tycho in their squads. If so what kind of upgradrs and how do you fly him.

Tycho, Push The Limit, Homing Missile

And then you can put 3 pilots worth 22 points each. I put Green Squadron with Push The Limit, Blue Squadron, and Rookie with an R2 Unit. As for flying him, you want to get him out of harm's way and preferably behind an enemy where they can't reach you. Using Push the Limit to TL and Focus to get the most out of that missile.

I've found he works very nicely with push the limit, even if you cannot remove the stress from the previous turn he can still perform his usual action. Plus the a wing has a good number of green manuevers to clear that stress

Even if you do not remove the stress he can perform two actions, adding another stress token.

Why clear stress in the first place? The only thing a stressed Tycho canot perform is the single red maneuver on his dial. That's not a huge loss for a 2nd action per round.

Daredevil is an option for Tycho. PTL is better.

When has someone ever run Tycho without Push the Limit?

Nope PTL is the only way I have run him, and it is fun

Because at some point it becomes bothersome to move Tycho plus his twenty nine stress tokens every turn.

just leave them on the card.

I've actually run him with Daredevil, and had a good time with it. Made him very unpredictable, and kept me out of arc a few times while letting me have a shot

Tycho, Push the Limit, Hull Upgrade, Cluster Missiles

When I played as Rebels, Tycho, Wedge and Ibtisam were my go-to pilots.

Tycho zipped in, dropped his payload, got out.

Wedge flew around scratching up TIEs and Ibtisam finished them off. As long as I kept Tycho out of any heavy fighting, he stayed alive.

Blast! Cheers guys thanks to this topic I've realised I've been using push the limit wrong. For some reason I was thinking this was a card that specifically said you couldn't use if already stressed

My current to-try list (played it a couple nights ago but won too quickly to judge it's effectiveness) is Luke w/ R2-D2, Tycho w/ PtL and Assault Missiles, and Ten Numb w/ Marksmanship or Advanced Sensors. Tycho is in this list as swarm counter, and is a great hunter to help Luke and Ten finish off targets, or an opener to strip tokens for the bigger hits

When you guys load up tycho does he become a priority target due to his 4 hp or because it's an a-wing do people tend to focus on the other heavy hitters?
