Hey so I'm not totally new to X wing but I'm also not that experienced when it comes to list building. Was trying to come up with a good 5 ship list and this is what I got.

2-blue squadron B-wings 22 points each

2-prototype A-wings 17pts each

1-rebel op- Hwk 290 w/Ion turret. 16+5 points

Total points=99

I have heard people going bbbaa as a solid 5 ship but I only have 2 b's. Any thoughts, critiques, and recommendations are appreciated!

It could work out. You could also consider putting in an X instead of the rebel op. More fire power + maneuverability but no turret or ion effect.

I agree with Khyros. Not a bad squad at all. I personally would definitely consider dropping the RO for a Rookie for the added firepower, maybe even give it an R2 to get to an even 100.

It might be a nice change from the 3B2A/2B2A1X squad. That ion might give it a better handle on some squads that maybe the 3B2A has a hard time with. I don't have knowledge of this myself!

Gonna try it out tonight and see what kind of results I get. Also will try the 2b2a1x as well. As far as the original 2a2b1hwk I am planning on having the hwk and bwings deploy close together and stick together using the ion to set up easy kills and hopefully mess up swarms. I plan on setting my A's on the other side to hopefully either divide there forces or to swing around for some harrassment.

XXBYY is another solid 5 Reb. You could trade an XY for a BA if you wish.

Yeah I don't really like the HWK unless you are doing something special with it, like Kyle focus passing. If you just want an ion, a Y-Wing is a better choice, but you wouldn't have the points here for that. Might be better to just do like above posters have said and drop the hwk and add an Xwing

Yeah I'm a sucker for a-wings and the HWK lol trying to use them both when I can,

You could always just add an intelligence agent to fill that last point, or Nunb, but that may make it too much of a target, but both of those could give extra shenanigans to the list.
