I'm trying to find where the rules say you can only have one modification per ship. I have seen references to having two anti pursuit lasers on a ship and the shuttle comes with two. Is this not actually possible?

So for example are any of the following choices legal?

2xAnti Pursuit Lasers & 1xShield Upgrade

2xShield Upgrade

2xAnti Pursuit Lasers

If i'm not mistaken, the rule of 'Only one modification per ship' is in the rules booklet that comes with the YT-1300 and Firespray expansions. Maybe as well in the Lambda's booklet.

You may only have one modification card and one title card on a ship. Any of the ships that came with modification cards should have come with a rules card that covers how to use them. I tried to find a picture online but no one seems to have one. I have transcribed the full rules below:

This card explains the rules for the Modification and Title cards. These Upgrade cards can be identified by their card backs.

Modifications and titles are special upgrades that do not appear in any ship's upgrade bar. Any ship may equip a modification or title unless the card is restricted to a specific type of ship. Each ship is limited to one modification and one title.

That could be why some people spotted what appears to be a Modifications reference card in the preview of the wave 4 ships. If that rule is currently only expressed in the big ships inserts, they may have wanted to make sure it was packaged in with small ships from here on out, for easy reference. Seems like a rule a lot of people overlook, maybe they're trying to fix that.

You're right about them putting in a modification rules card into some of the wave 4 ships, but I don't think it's to "fix" anything, if you have the current modifications then you got a large ship, and therefore got the rule booklet along with it. If people aren't reading it, it's not a shortcoming on FFGs part, most find it just fine. The thing is they are going to have the first ever modification in a small ship, and the small ships don't come with rule booklets, so how do they ensure you have the rules for modifications? Put it on a card

Engine upgrade, shield upgrade, stealth device, etc, etc, etc, are all Modifications.

The only ship with those rules on a card should be the HWK. link Everyone who purchased an HWK should have that card.

Large ships include the rules as well. Just not on a card.

I don't understand the debate... the rules for Modifications and Titles have been included with every product that includes either a modification or a title upgrade. Just like the rules for Ion tokens have been included with every ship that has ion weapon upgrades and the rules for bombs has been included with every ship that has bomb upgrades. This is good because it doesn't require you to buy an earlier product (from when the rule was implemented) in order to understand the rules added with a new product.
