How about Rebel captive in Kath's Firespray for even more stress?
I agree with berusplants,
Swap Marksmanship for Rebel Captive and bump one of the Obs. Sq. Pilots down to an Academy, then swap Elusiveness for Push the Limit on Soontir.
IMO I would make just a few changes drop the obsidians down to APs then change MMS to EH on Kath and give her Rebel Captive. Then change elusiveness for PTL on Soontir.
Kath Scarlet — Firespray-31 38
Expert Handling 2
Rebel Captive 3
Soontir Fel — TIE Interceptor 27
Push the Limit 3
Stealth Device 3
Academy Pilot — TIE Fighter 12
Academy Pilot — TIE Fighter 12
Total 100 pts
Much better IMO
I prefer marksmanship than rebel captive, given the choice, but both is better. Also, I do like Elusiveness in Soontir because it makes him nigh impossible to hit. However, the best option is always to deny attacks altogether by maneuvering so posh the Limit is a must.
Also, if you don't buy a named pilot, ALWAYS save the points and but the cheapest pilots possible for any ship, especially if you intend to play the list competitively. Those two points are much better spent elsewhere.
Only exceptions are to ensure you can fire ordinance before you are destroyed, or to make a pilot talent available. But both are often just a risk of points.
Edited by Engine25I've had some success with a similar build, though I trade out Kath for Krassis and an HLC. Going to use it in a tourney this weekend.

I disagree with this. Try playing Blue Thunder vs. Bloody Daggers. The Daggers will win almost every time, even though the blues have HLCs. That said, you do have to balance points spent for PS, roll the ships are going to fulfill (in this case blockers, so you want the PS1), and other enhancements.
Kath + Push the Limit + Rebel Cap or Recont Specialist
Fell + Push the Limit + Stealth
Academy Pilot

While I like the Rebel Captive with Kath, I think she does better with a Recon Specialist. For her actions, focus and evade, spend a focus on attack, keep a focus for defense along with the evade. She becomes great.
If you want to maximize the effects of Stress on Kath, I would do the following:
Kath + Marksmanship + Rebel Captive + Ion Cannon
This way you can throw some Ion tokens up on the enemy and build up stress.
I haven't had much luck with Kath outside of the Rebel Captive combo. I tend to run her with Marksmanship and Captive just to try to max out the chances of double-stressing (or inflicting a crit, either way). The issue with that, though, is people tend to shy away from targetting her and focusing on your other stuff. If that's some frail TIE's, they tend to not stand up to it. I am hoping that with the defensive abilities being gained from Aces/Wave 4, I can create some more no-win scenarios where either you shoot at Kath and take stress, or have to throw shots at TIE's with 4-5 green dice on average.
I ran this a couple of weeks ago and it really messed with my opponent's ability to pick a target:
Kath Scarlett (38)
-Seismic Charge (2)
-Rebel Captive (3)
Soontir Fel (27)
-Stealth Device (3)
-Push the Limit (3)
Academy Pilot (12)
Academy Pilot (12)
Edited by ErulethoI don't have rebel captive so that option is out til I get a Albino Stellar Ox. While I know about PTL with Fel I thought it would be fun to take a focus after moving. Then elusiveness will help generate another focus. As I have not flown a game yet, I expect to be fired on more than being able to move out of arcs.
Even it you havn't flown much and are worried about not getting out of arcs etc. it is still better IMO to have double focus and evade and the option to pick your extra action if needed than to just have elusiveness!
