Speculation: Dials for both Defender and Phantom for a Store Campaign

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

I'm running a small campaign and want to add these guys, just one or two to help spice up the game for my players.

What dials would you assign them until their actual dial comes out?

Defender: I'm thinking TIE Advanced

Phantom: I'm thinking TIE Interceptor

As for the Cloak. Action: After moving you may use an action to cloak. Add +3 to you agility, and you cannot be shot at range 3. Remove at end of turn, and cannot fire while cloaked. Also, No shields while cloaked either.

My group is playing tomorrow night, The mission will be a pretty standard mission with a defector who will be flying a Tie Defender.

Let me know,

Thanks,

I'd wait to see what they are officially, with all the possibilities I wouldn't want to guess. As far as the cloak ability, basically the same thing..

In my view it is better to wait and see rather than get used to playing it incorrectly.

Well i have no idea about the Tie Phantom, but the Defender's dial has a green 5 on it…the only dial we have (currently) with that is the A-wing dial - so i would suggest that. The Phantom i would guess the Tie Fighter dial, if not the Advanced because i'm assuming it's not as fast when it's got energy devoted to a cloak…but that's just mild speculation.

Thanks, I like the Defender using the A-WING. So I may go with that, As for the Phantom after careful looking at the dials I also like both the TIE Fighter and the TIE Interceptor.

Oneway. I agree with waiting for the dials, but I want to run this mission in my campaign tomorrow at my store. I think it will be cool, so I'm just trying to get some info.

Defender using the awing dial makes the most sense. I would add "yellow" manuvers to any of the green banks/turns. These gain a free evade token at reveal... Pretty awesome new manuever huh?

I can't imagine the cloak action would be that useful if you have to give up your attack AND action to use it. I'm thinking it will be impossible to TL you but it drops as soon as you fire. The "advanced cloaking device" appears to let you recloak after you attack, meaning you probably can still be targeted, otherwise you'd never get shot. I'm kinda liking the spectulation about swapping att/def; seems like a good compromise, don't think it's enough though, and not useful on other future ships.

Well, I feel you are also nerfing the Defender as no one knows what its new maneuver is.. one we haven't seen on a dial yet, much speculation, but no one knows what it is.. myself, I'd wait. To me it's more important to have the official ships and dials to use them properly..for instance. Say you run your game, but because of how something works officially, and how you played it are different, that it would have changed the outcome of the game.. as I said, just how I see it..

Not to mention the Phantom and how cloak works.. no one knows that at all, and soeculation is just that...

Edited by oneway

The Defender was way more maneuverable than either the TIE Interceptor or A-wing, so that's a starting point.

Defender: TIE Advance**

All 2 and Straight maneuvers are Green.

When revealing a GRN-1-Bank maneuver you may change it to a WHT-1-Turn Maneuver.

Assign 1 Evade token after performing 1 or 2-Turns or Straight Maneuver.

Phantom: Slave-1 Dial

Cloak: Action add 1 D-Dice to your total and cancel 1 of the attackers Hit results per attack. you may not attack this round.

the Defender looks a little screwy but It has to assign an Evade token after a maneuver it's just which one...
