I've checked FAQ and the errata, but may still have missed clarification. The CRB (my copy, 2nd printing) shows an example in dice text but not clarifying text, and I just want to be sure I'm understanding the example correctly: When assembling a basic dice pool, if both the ability value and the skill rank used for a standard skill check are equal (say 3), then all three dice in the basic pool are upgraded to Proficiency (y) dice?

Yes. Either the three characteristic dice get upgraded three times to yellow, or the skill dice do. Either way, you have three yellow dice.
