Theme of the Next Asylum Pack Block Requests

By Archwraith666, in CoC General Discussion

I don't know if the Powers Above read these threads, but I just wanted to get my suggestions out there for the next (or next next) Asylum pack block. It would be cool if it was:

Cthulhu Now (Delta Green)

or

Dreamlands.

Anyone else want to chime in?

i would like a block that includes all the named characters in a lcg format. like dexter ward, and nyarl, azatoth, dr west, etc. dont know what theyd call it but i think we could see all of them in a 6 set run.

i would also like to see some mi-gos. dont think you could make a whole block based on mi-gos though.

Delta Green, a worthy cool sleek and popular genre of weird fiction, modern top secret cthulhu, was never my favorite. New Aeon cards burst through my bias as an amazing and strong Mythos set. New Aeon was far better than the absolutely beautiful and imaginative but weak Mythos Dreamlands set, and super rarer by far besides.

Still, Dreamlands remains the elusive Call of Cthulhu CCG LCG LMNOP set. We've had our brushes with Randoph's vacation home - Shantak, Randolph, someone make the list please.

The possible Dreamlands list is spectacular, penned by any.

And yeah, give me the mi-go and elder things and yithians and shoggoths and deep ones and dark yound and all those from the great early works.

But one must assume AP Cycle II to offer its own theme and new story line. It is the artistic and respectable thing to do, and risky. You are, after all, up against the masters and the generations of circles to follow. Add to the genre with a new creative story, characters, monsters, and places. Balance that with "the early works" and make good on the remaining Erich Zanns of the game, and make those especially playable. ia!

Just beacause I'm french. But an Asylum about "les années folles", 1920's in France will be great gran_risa.gif

I'd bet with the time it takes for concept, playtesting and printing,

that we are well past the window of opportunity to suggest a theme for the

next AP block. Regardless of that fact, I suggest 'Dreamlands' or a

'Da Vinci Code' - like story.

I'd like to see a dreamlands set, Xothic Cycle set, more sets based upon other Call of Cthu;hu RPG campaign books, and lots more characters and places from Lovecraft's works. I'd not like a modern DG set (New Aeon was a poor choice for the old Mythos game). Stick to 1920's.

Agree. It was too clunky to build a deck spanning multiples times and travelling between them was just too much of a hassle.

This is a different game from Mythos tho'. You can't base what could happen in this game based on what happened in that game, the two games are nothing alike. It's like comparing shoggoths and yithians, they're two different... whatevers. I think you can mix different time periods and still have it play well (ref: Star Trek CCG 2e just to cite an example). Sorry, just had to spew my two cents on that.

Anyway, great ideas! Any more? (I hope FFG is reading this)

The New Aeon set had a bevvy of cards that crossed sets. Remember the awesome Innsmouth cards, especially Fish Head Rock, impossible to get four, but mandatory for the Stand Against the Order / Assault on Y' adventure Lovecraft Country deck.

Speaking of AP Julia IV - Barnacles on the Tiles, it should be announced. This one's the "newfound emphasis on the arcane struggle." Nate has Julia fleeing the murder by bathtub of Marshal Green. Will she be down by the rocky shore? On Fish Head Rock? Is she going to the museum first to look up her ancestry? Will the undead continue to figure in? Is Julia anything else but a young deep one? Will the narcs leave Chuck alone? Will the fly leave Chuck alone? Tune in on love of cthulhu.
