Star Wars: Rebels

By Jegergryte, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Anyone else find it amusing that Mark Hamill and Freddie Prinze both portrayed the same character in WIng Commander and are now portraying characters on Star Wars? I wonder if they will get the cast to do voice work while on the movie for the tv show?

25 mins in to this there is a short clip from the show of Ezra outsmarting a TIE pilot:-

Ooooh, an ISB agent!

And one for Chopper:

(anyone else thought he was about to say something else when he said "Chopper is a grumpy as. . .tromech")

Man... the music in those trailers is really OT-errific!

Any word on what Lando will be doing in his appearances? I'm still hoping for a new version of the Battle of Tanab, I know the series is set years before Legends says the battle took place but honestly I found the Legends version of the battle to be a massive disappointment.

I met a few of those Droid Builders at Dragoncon a few years ago they are pretty awesome in my opinion and I love the fact that fans are getting used in production of both the movies and the cartoons like this.

So...in order to get this kid's show...I must have the Disney XD channel...Hmmm...In order to have that I must upgrade my DishNetwork programming to the most expensive package at roughly $70/month plus fees.

Sure. Just like everyone has to get HBO to watch game of thrones!

:0)

game of what? ;)

Seriously, I don't watch and don't care for it.

Oooohhhhhh, so you're the one!....................

Hate to say it, but there's two of us. I watched 3 or 4 episodes and said "Blech - not for me!" and gave up.

Well there other resources. Online sites the stream the episodes, legal and not. Wait for DVD release. Or for release on Netflix. All if you don't have access to the station. I've had to do this for shows I like as I don't always have access to the stations they are on. Game of Thrones, Burn Notice, Spartacus, Strikeback, all shows I've either purchased or had them downloaded or recorded for me.

Oh, I didn't know they were talking about the character's orientations already!

Well, Zeb was kicked out of an army in disgrace...

More Rebels info from TFN:-

Ok, just got a long look at the Rebel's visual guide. However my post here is more about what in it was EU/Legends content.

First off the big change: Kessel, its now a full sized planet with a royal family vs its EU 'planetiod' broken up planet status. There is also clearly an atmosphere (yellow/brown, maybe due to all the mining) if you saw the Rebels trailer Kessel is where Kanan turned on his lightsaber. No word on the Maw or its moon, so they could or could not survive at this point. That said I didn't see the Maw in the background, but it was a very zoomed in pic... so no word on the Kessel run and the whole 12 parsecs explaination.

Next off, so far its all original characters or movie characters. No Lengends character did get confirmed here.

As to things that crossed over: well, they didn't say it clearly, being à kids book, but spice from kessel is 'medicinal' but illegal which maybe implies drug in the bad way.

Next off a few obvious thing, as many had guessed, the Phantom is a short ranged fighter that fits inside the Ghost, an idea adapted from the EU. The Ghost and phantom are 'stealthy' though never use that word, so like Slave 1 or the Sith Infiltrator but not nearly as advanced was the implcation i got, they also flatout said it couldnt cloak. The Star Destroyers of this era are Imperial 1 class (Ions where listed as part of its weaponary but never pointed to on the model, so not sure if that was just DK using old data or confirmed) as was obvious in the early release pic (only listing it here to confirm it survived production apperently) based on its sensor tower having that x shape. Wookiee slave as the trailer gave away, where sent the the spice mines of kessel. It wasn't stated when, but the wookiee homewold Kashyyyk has been taken invaded and taken over by the Empire.

Also "The empire looks down on alien species" on a seperate page talking about the imperial ranks being mostly human. So their bigotry is now canon... (and just to say it again, most stormtroopers are loyal 'but not bright' citizens not clones)

However the thing that got introduced. Disruptor weaponary and apperently its effects on living targets instead of its intended target of ships is 'grusome' and apperently it has a plot conection to one of the new cast (so I won't say anymore).

As to things that crossed over: well, they didn't say it clearly, being à kids book, but spice from kessel is 'medicinal' but illegal which maybe implies drug in the bad way.

Come on, even as a kid I knew that when they said that Han was a spice smuggler, I was pretty sure he wasn't shipping Paprika! Mind you, I grew up in the 70's where sex and drugs and disco and gay people were everywhere - perhaps I was more genre savvy, but are today's kids that stupid?

Unfortunately many are.

Considering the price of saffron today, the shipping of spices by companies like the east india trading co. Would make smuggling lucrative.

Not stupid, just over-protected. We live in an age where your movie has to have a warning label if it contains 'brief smoking'. :D

[EDIT: also, weird - this forum censored Desslok's post, quoted above, but didn't do that to his actual post, or when RC quoted him. Weird!]

Wait a minute ...

Also "The empire looks down on alien species" on a seperate page talking about the imperial ranks being mostly human. So their bigotry is now canon... (and just to say it again, most stormtroopers are loyal 'but not bright' citizens not clones)

While the whole statement comes to no suprise for me, but the stormtroopers part rings an alarm bell in my head.

Are the heroes in the show going to be winning because their opposition is going to be too stupid?

Except for those rare moments in the storylines when an important Imperial planed ahead.

Hey mods, Sylpheed just admitted to being ErikB and coming back under a different name after being banned.

Probably not much that can be done, unless the ErikB account was specifically banned, and probably not even then.

On the upside, anyone that had ErikB on their block list can now add Sylpheed for the same reason.

As far as I can tell there's no actual proof that Sylpheed is ErikB its just a currently popular theory.

Lets try and not shun someone for a theory. Just because they haven't said one way or the other doesn't mean anything. After all, I've never confirmed or denied that I was ErikB either.

And if it is - he seems to have chilled out considerably from his older abrasive ways. Until he starts acting like a dick, lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

Feh, take your open minded reasonableness coupled with maturity and leave now. I have my hood, pitchfork and torches all ready, thank you very much mr. fair and equal.............. :P
