Anyone want to guess what this is for?

My best guess is one of the skills allows the ship to get one. Probably Predator since it share Outmaneuver with the E-Wing and the E-Wing only has 1 evade token. Predator does have a lot of text so I doubt its just get the evade action.

My second guess is one of the high skill pilot has an ability that lets it use evade.

Anyone else care to speculate on the assumptions I have made?

Possibly along the lines of " if you perform a maneuver that would cause you to receive a stress token receive an evade instead". Wishful thinking

I don't know; the guy who makes custom acrylic templates and such locally winds up with extra material on the sheets, and generally programs in some random tokens to waste as little space/material as possible.

It's entirely possible that there was just enough room for another token and they figured they'd throw in an Evade since, if you're flying Imperial, most of your other ships are going to have that action and you can never have too many tokens.

I would be more likely to suspect that one of the named pilot abilities might generate an evade token somehow. Seems the most logical reason.

It either has something to do with one of the Pilot abilities, or the Elite Talents.

Outmaneuver could be something like "when you perform a boost our barrel roll action, you may perform a free evade action". If something allows a free evade action rather than granting a token, that would result in the TIE defender needing an "extra" evade token while the E-wing wound not.

This is my best guess on predator:

"When attacking at range 1, unless the defender's [agility?] value is [X] [or more? / less?], you may reroll up to [X] dice."

Well it makes sense that one of the upgrades or pilots somehow gives out Evade Tokens, that might be why it doesn't have the evade action to start with. The only other TIE not to have the evade action is the TIE Bomber.
