I have been giving the new ships some thought (specifically the Empire) and I am starting to think that the Defender may be a great foil to the Shuttle.

Reasons:

1. Very survivable ship.

2. Firepower 3.

3. Probably highly maneuverable.

4. Small base

You could take 2 of them up to 30 points each, (even naked they are potent ships) and still take 40 points on the shuttle.

The Defenders should be able to both fight well and be able to turn back and defend the shuttle quite easily. I am seeing quite a use for them.

The same for a Firespray, but not needed as much.

So the Imp version is Yorr Gonna Get Shot?

They may well fit this role well. I'll have to see their dial before I can be sure, but it would certainly be a threatening list. Whether it is superior to Scarlet Cowgirl, I don't know yet. Either way, should be a lot of fun.

Though I'm more interested in Buzzsaw Shuttle + Firespray + TIE Phantom. That seems like the ideal way to replace the two TIE Fighters.
