As the YT 1300 seems to be the most common starting ship.
Did your group stick with it, or jump ship to something better?
If you stuck with it what how did you modify it?
If you left what did you jump ships to?

So far they've stuck with it. Increased speed, shield, added a weapon and a new hyperdrive. They are looking for a new one though.
When we started (beginner box), I hated getting lumbered with a YT-1300. Too much baggage (nobody's ever going to make a better 'falcon, so why try?) and just too **** familiar.
As the group's mechanic (BH:Gadgeteer) though, I've done so much work keeping her in the air that I don't think I could part with her (though given the enemies we've acquired, that would be the most prudent course of action).
We use a YT-1300 but I wish I'd gone with the Wayfarer. More cargo capacity, nearly the same level of customization available and higher silhouette (means you can put Turbolasers on it if you want). I also like the bigger shield capabilities. Yes, it's -2 handling but that's not the end of the world. I misread the book (wrong entry) so I picked the YT-1300. I'm not hugely unhappy I just hate the cliche of it all.
We put in smuggling compartment (just one, no mods yet), hyperdrive, new guns (quads in the turrets). Future plans are an increased shield generator, and advanced targeting array. Lastly we are mounting the medium laser cannons removed from the turrets on onto a forward facing mount to add a bit more kick.

Sil 5 though. That's a big problem.
We took the Krayt Fang and heavily modified it. swapped out the weapons for 2 quad lasers, Advanced Targeting Array, Shields, Engine, Hyperdrive 0.5 and Electronic Countermeasures Suite.
We're currently looking for a few starfighters and a corvette to make as our base of operations.
There are excellent starting ships in Enter the Unknown, I highly reccomend picking it up, if for no other reason than the ships (there is other good stuff in it though).
I like the E-9, but my group thinks the deck plan looks too suggestive. ![]()
Yes, we are but children.
EDIT: Meant to quote CrunchyDemon
Edited by Col. OrangeI have a feeling my players are looking for a new starship, although I'm uncertain as to what type. I'm also having an issue with certain players not showing, so the pilot hasn't been there for a while... which means the group has to adapt and reconfigure roles somewhat.
I am sort of keen on the YV-560 (the one in Enter the Unknow, I might have the number wrong), the E9 or perhaps something else entirely.
I hated the idea of having a lame Falcon expy. It felt so predictable.
But the players LOVED the Krayt Fang floor plans, so I had to accept it.
And the whole concept of the Krayt Dragons Smuggling Consortium was born, with their secrets codes and tattoos and everything.
So a year on, and that rusty bag of junk is still in the air, and it's been so heavily modded it makes the Falcon look like a sandcrawler with a hyperdrive.
Does anybody choose the Firespray?
My group and I just started a new game, full on bounty hunters, and we chose the Firespray stats (Although we applied them to a different model ship). Why is nobody here talking about it? It seems pretty good!

Not enough cargo room or big enough for a crew of 4+ to sleep comfortably.

That's why you fluff up some of the prison cells. We're bounty hunters . . . luxury is not our forte. ![]()

My personal armory takes up a 15 x 15 room on our ship lol.
Pick up the Haynes Millennium Falcon repair guide if you plan to use the YT-1300. Its just plain cool and talks about many of the weird YT-1300 options out there, like the mini-fighter, and the loading shuttle.
Personally, I've been using deck plans from this guy. and they are awesome.

My players started with the Venture which is a YT-1930 equivalent ship. Very awesome. The cockpit is also a break away shuttle\escape pod with seating room for 7. My players have had a lot of fun with this ship.
I'm planning to upgrade the players to the Mourning Wolf. Its silhouette 5/freighter equivalent. It also has a fighter sized air lock, and massive cargo bay.

I thought you had a lot. That would easily fit in GI Joe's kitchen...
My players have 6 souped up speeder bikes with imperial serial numbers filed off. Technically you need a silhouette 5 freighter to carry those. *sigh*

Or you could always just hot-bunk it and work in shifts...

They can feel free to . . . but as their Captain I'm **** well sure getting my own bunk. ![]()
This is one the, if not the best site for deck plans. These guys rock. So if you are looking for some great ships, click here:

All the stats are in the WEG D6 system, I thnk a few have been converted over to D20/Saga.
Don't go for the stats, go for the exceptional deck plans and tremendous amount of work these guys have put into this.
Btw, I don't ever go with the 1300, to cliche for my tastes.
And eeww, hot bunking after a wookiee!? I think not...

Show off!
We chose to play in a starved economy and have yet to make any real money, or gain any real upgrades in our gear. Heck, we just got our ship not to long ago. It has engines, but no weapons or hyperdrive. Sadly, we have been playing since about a month after release, but this is our design.
As for our ship... It is a YT-Prototype. It has a back story that we have yet to uncover. I don't have the stats with me, but it is a CEC ship design with slightly better numbers.
For the "Rebels" game that I'm running for some friends, I opted to give this instead of a YT-1300...
Since they're part of the Alliance, it's their ship, and given the backstory of the vessel I thought it was a good fit. It's got a few modifications (lost the Linked quality on the concussion missiles, but has a better hyperdrive and speed), but it's also got a nice mix of firepower, speed, and durability. The one player in the group that had been big into Star Wars Galaxies had an explosion of geek joy when he found out what the group was going to be flying around in, as he was quite found of the Nova Courier.
WTF is a helium grenade?
