Thought I would share on this Action Transport.

I need to be your apprentice! Are you accepting applications?
I'm guessing you are aware of the WotC model of the ship for the SSB game. Admittedly it is still a bit small but it would give you something else to work off of.
JC - come on over.
Steven - I have no idea what you're talking about. Care to expand on your statement? More sources always helps.
Thansk guys.
Very cool, I can't wait to see the final result. I guess you didn't want to buy the model kit?
You didn't just have an old Dustbuster laying around?
Kidding
It looks great! Can't wait to see the progress.
Margathea, What models?

In the Wizard's Starship Battles mini game the Wild Karrde was one of the large (class 3) ships in the game. Lets see if this takes you to one selling in ebay . If I knew how I could take pictures of the one I have that would be better than that one.
Awesome start, looking forward to seeing this built.
I'm hoping to find some time to get back in to things and get converting, scratch holding again.
I'd almost like to see some of these large ships serve dual roles. One as an actual game piece but with a secondary role of being STORAGE space for all of our other ships and stuff. I mean when that Medium Freighter comes out how much "dead space" is there actually going to be in the middle of it? And the Action Bulk Freighter, its purpose is to haul stuff and as mentioned IT HAS A BUILT IN CARRY HANDLE.

Personally, I think Viceroy Bolda can do better without dumbing his aspirations down to that of the Starship Battles level.
I went out and looked at the ships they put out after wave four was announced to compare with the direction FFG went. Wow, we can totally just skip those minis as a pattern for anything. Droopy as all get out, and talk about a sliding scale...
Interestingly enough, Starship battles never did do any of the four ships in wave four (at least as far as I could find). I think the defender just wouldn't be feasible in the soft plastic, but why the other three were shunned is beyond me. Starship Battles did seem to cover all the different eras, though, so not nearly as many types of ships were made in each.
There is a model kit on starship modeler ; butt that one is 1/350 scale...Yours will probably have a lot more detail and leave us awestruck once again lol
Saw some nice 1/350 ones just yesterday
I think you overestimate my ability. Nicholas' transport is outstanding! Mine will look nowhere that awesome. I planned on doing it up and a stock freightor, all rusty, maybe a dent or two. I wireed the engines for light already.
That model is coming along nicely!
The Starship Modeler kit looks great, for a ship that size 1/350 would still look fine on the tabletop. But 2.5 pounds of resin would need a reinforced and weighted flight stand!
I've been mulling over a scratchbuild out of styrene. Looking forward to seeing how your's progresses.
Those ribs were time consuming. Almost done with the nose.
One more before work...
looking awesome.. I thought it would be bigger though, at least 2x the size of the Falcon..
Fun fact: Rob Caswell, who designed the Action VI Transport for the RPG, regrets that WEG didn't ask for a front view of this ship. It's actually supposed to be roughly a pyramid shape from the front:
I'm looking forward to this one!
You, sir, are a machine.
This reminds me of my architecture BA days.
Keep it up.
Really incredible. I've always loved the look of the Wild Karrde ; unique but entirely Star Wars in its sensibilities.

It is, the angle is fooling you.

Damnit!
So, I printed these plans while I was making the Customs Corvette in 1:350.
It seems I printed the Action plans in that scale. It is about 3" short for 1:270.
Although I'm a little pissed at myself for working on this all day yesterday and not realizing what I had done, It will take up less space on the table and look "closer" to scale with the FFG huge ships.
