Hi used to play Talisman back in the 80s ( 2nd edition ) stumbled across this forum and been reading about the revised 4th edition is that the current version and is it still available to buy new as I can only see places selling it second hand ?

Yes, it is still in production and widely available. In fact, FFG are in the process of reprinting a new batch as we speak, though you should be able to pick a copy up quite easily.
