So, tonight I am flying a ogp shuttle with Vader. my piloting skill is a 2 and I'm being fired on by blue squadron B wing who also has a pilot skill of two.I will be firing at the Millenium Falcon piloted by Lando with a pilot scale of 7. the bwing fired and destroyed my shuttle reducing my Hull to 0. Since we are both ps 2, before removing my shuttle I fired my primary weapon at the falcon and hit, removing the remainder of it shields. I then wanted to activate Vader to score the critical hit. My opponent felt that because I was at 0 hull, I should not be able to do this, as I could not recieve 2 damage of my own. As far as I know, receiving the damage is a consequence of the action you do not spend damage to take the action. so in this situation is this legal or not.? another question is When is the shuttle removed? immediately after its primary weapon attack in which case Vader would not be able to make his attack or is the shuttle removed after completing all of its attacks and or actions? after both of those discussed it neither one of us were exactly clear on how This should play out. help appreciated. on a related question Would the answer be different if the shuttle had onlyone hull remaining or if the shuttle was actually taken to negative hull thanks again.

The FAQ covers this. Vader does not work in a simultaneous attack situation.

The ship is removed after everything it can do. It can use upgrades like gunner and FCS before being removed.

The quick rule to remember about Vader is that you must pay for his ability and it must be a cost that has "risk".

At 1 hull or more you can use Vader. At 0 hull or less, there is no longer a risk to use Vader so his cost can't be paid.
