My wife and I are very new to the game, and there are still a couple things that are foggy to us... Primarily, upgrade cards. Are the upgrade cards that come with each expansion exclusive to that ship? Or can I use any upgrade card on any ship provided it is compatible? I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

You can use any upgrade with any ship, so long as they're compatible.

You can check compatability by comparing the image on the back of the upgrade with the upgrade slot on the pilot's card.

For instance, X-Wings and Y-Wings can equip Astromech Droids, but Tie Fighters can't.

There are two types of upgrades whose symbol doesn't appear on any card: Modifications and Titles.

Modifications (which looks like crossed wrenches) can be equipped on any ship, but you can't have more than one on a ship. These include Engine Upgrades, Shield Upgrades, Stealth Devices, and Anti-Pursuit Lasers, with many more to come in the near future.

Titles (which looks like an X-Wing hovering over a frisbee) can be equipped on the specific ship they mention. So far, all are unique (can only have 1 per fleet), but Imperial Aces will bring the first title you can have in multiples (the Royal Guard title, which lets an Interceptor pilot of level 6 or more equip 2 different modifications).
