Upgrade cards question

By Jaden Ckast, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I was wondering how many upgrade cards are you allowed to use on a single ship? I'm referring to the ones with the wrenches in an X on the back. I've been reading only 1 per craft bit then some people refer to using 3 shield upgrades on an interceptor. So I'm confused, is there a rule about this because I have not found one yet.

Unless its a pilot ability or something allowing you to equip 2, you're only allowed to equip one type of modification

I think there is a pilot who can equip 2

You're only allowed 1 "Modification" per ship.

The exception is if you've equipped the Royal Guard Interceptor title (to be released in Imperial Aces), in which case you may equip 2 different ones.

Ok so when you say 1 modification does that mean multiples of the same kind? For instance 3 shield modifications or 3 stealth device modifications. I'm assuming you mean just 1 card no multiples but just want to be sure.

1 card, no multiples. So, a single ship may equip a Stealth Device OR an Engine Upgrade, but not both, unless you have the RGI title.

Even then, it may not equip 2 Stealth Devices

Ok got it that's what I thought. I thought maybe I was missing something since other people were referring to using multiples in their builds. Thanks

Only one upgrade card per ship.

The reason you may see people refer to using 3 shield upgrades on an Interceptor is to use that as a hypothetical comparison point to the TIE Defender that is coming out. To put it another way if a point of shields is 4 points (as determined by the Shield Upgrade mod) then 3 shields could be prices at 12 point and work from there.

Only one upgrade card per ship.

Psst - I think you mean "modification" :)

Aye. You can stack 1 upgrade card per slot, and there is an invisible slot for Modifications

Only one upgrade card per ship.

I did! The problem was I was using the wording previously presented. The terrible "repeated error" problem.

I keep wanting to put a shield Mod on Interceptors, but stealth always seems better for Imperials.

On a ship with 3 evasion naturally, kicking it up to 4 is likely to prevent more than 1 damage.
